Karmanjoomrim
Karmanjoomrim (Elw for "(Melted-ice) Lakes of Karman") is a bailiwick in central Cape Farewell, population 1,070,516. Mostly rural and wild in character, it often houses Roqpin camp sites. The capital of the bailiwick is Karmanshahr (Elw: Karmanxaar, Farewellish: Karmansjar) with a population of 329,177. The rest of the population lives largely in suburbs around the capital or in villages and smaller towns in the wilderness.
The bailiwick is named after the old Elw chieftain Karman, who, in the 1450s used the wilderness to mount a guerrilla war against the Hyperborean and Raynorist invaders. Usually, in the spring and summer, most of the central lowland of the bailiwick becomes several lakes due to melted ice and snow. In Elw, a lake or pool of melted water is known as a joomrim. This swampy land became one of the last pieces of continental Elwynn to be conquered by the Shiretithians.
The bailiwick borders Michaelion in the south-west, and to the north, Amuun Aranui and Rikarðsstaðr. It also borders the Iserdian bailiwick of Taznimskirk in the south, and the Illumination bailiwick of Azshara to the east.

Politics
The bailiwick is governed by the Worshipful Municipal Corporation of Aldermen of Karmanjoomrim, Guarantors of its Ancient Liberties. The Corporation of Aldermen has 45 seats, and it is the highest decision-making body in the bailiwick. The Corporation is elected by popular vote. The Corporation elects an executive council to function as the government. The current executive council of Karmanjoomrim is a majority coalition of the Ayreonist Independence Party, the Nationalist & Humanist Party, and the Holy Party of the Divine Icebear.
