Konungstekja means "King-taking" in the Farewellish, Froyalanish and Wintergleamish languages. It is the legal and cultural term that denotes the coronation ceremony of the King of Elwynn. The coronation ceremony takes place in either the Tower of Araxion or in the Araxion Forest depending on the time of the year and as the weather may permit. In Elw, the coronation ceremony is known as Redizarai.
The Konungstekja has thirteen stages:
- Query of Acception;
- Elwynn's Proclamation;
- Bath of Purification;
- Wedding of Kingship;
- Oath of Office;
- Anointing and Crowning;
- Presentation of Regalia;
- Oaths of Loyalty;
- Hailing;
- Vappnatakk;
- Rúmleida;
- Consummation of the Sacred Marriage;
- Hegira.
Query of Acception
At the crack of dawm the King rides at the head of a group of companions from Araxion Castle to a ford in the Araxionian Elwynn, the most sacred tributary of the Blue Elwynn and of the Elwynn (River) as whole, which is called Lady's Ford. Each companion represents one of the Twelve Peoples of Elwynn. The King is seated on a white mare and is, just like his companins, clad in full knightly armour. At the ford the aforesaid band of royal riders is awaited by Her Holiness the Yfirfroyalansgythia and High Priestess of the White Orchid Temple, the senior cleric of the Froyalanish Ancient Ways, and a large crowd of Elwynnese subjects from all Princely Precincts of the Flower of the North.
