The Yfirfroyalansgythia is the senior cleric of the Froyalanish Ancient Ways and the Mortal Head of the Church of the Froyalanish Ancient Ways. She presides over the Hjartardýrlafðir, the matriarchal council which is composed of the highest ranking clergy of the Froyalanish Ancient Ways.
History
The title of Yfirfroyalansgythia was together with the style of "Holiness" bestowed upon the High Priestess of the White Orchid Temple by the Jólaslafðir during the Ducal Reign of Harald of Froyalan (1533-1542) when she was recognized by them as the senior cleric of the Froyalanish Ancient Ways. At the same time was the Yfirfroyalansgythia - together with the other Deer Ladies, present and future - conferred upon the title and royal status of Princess of the Ancient Ways by the aforesaid Yule Ladies.
