The Vineta Temple.

The Vineta Temple, also known as Hvíturtemplet, which means "white temple" in the Froyalanish and Wintergleamish languages, is a Vanic Temple which is situated on the outskirts of the Royal City of Tuulersbýur.

Name

The temple derives its name from a semi-mythical Valtian trading town called Vineta which was situated in the vincinity of the temple's location. Vineta was destroyed when a gargantuan tsunami caused by the cataclysm that destroyed Valtia struck the coast.

The name of Vineta Temple was bestowed upon the temple complex by means of a Gyllmára Búlla which was issued by the Jólaslafðir prior to its initial dedication. Its other name of Hvíturtemplet (white temple) is derived from the white garments the Goddess Elwynn often wears, and it is in her honour that temple complex has been mainly constructed with white building materials.

About

Owing to the ancient and speicial ties between the Vineta Temple and the House of Ettlingar Freyu, the Vineta Temple is nowadays regarded as one of the official residences of the Royal Family of Elwynn. In consequence thereof the temple is guarded by the Garde de la Reine Sacrée/Beakyr Taarion Hyel, a Joint Unit of the Fleur de Lys-Longships Guard and the Vanic Temple Guard which serves at Mount Yaanek, the Tower of Araxion, the Vineta Temple, and Mount Yaanek Temple and Palace in the Kingly City of Eliria.

History

The temple was built by King Arkadius I of Batavia as a gift for his Queen Consort Lafði Ærinndís des Vinandy of Ettlingar Freyu - who is the sister of Harald of Ettlingar Freyu - after She had given birth to their daughter Princess Fränzi-Ferdinanda, who would many years later would become Queen Regnant of Batavia.

Due to the many woes and turmoils the Kingdom of Batavia went through in the latter years of its existence, the Vineta Temple was abandoned and fell into disrepair. Subsequent to the Furthest of the Far West, the Lady Elwynn Herself ordered King Noah of Elwynn to reconstruct the temple. The King, of course, happily obliged. The Vineta Temple is these present days solely dedicated to the White Orchid Goddess.
