The Monarchy of Elwynn

Princess Fjǫrleif Llængjarla of Elwynn, the present Royal Governor of Amokolia.

A Royal Governor, also known as Lord/Lady Lieutenant is an official appointed by the King in the Council of Eliria who governs a Royal Precinct of the Elwynnese Union in the name and on behalf of the aforesaid King of the Lands of the Two Sacred Rivers. Zie holds either a republican or noble title associated with zir Royal Precinct.

Tenure and Titles

Persons who belong to the Elwynnese nobility or royalty who are appointed to a Royal Governorship have the option to hold a noble title, while commoners may only be elevated to a noble title on the advice and consent of the Council of Eliria.

Royal Governors who are appointed to a noble governorship hold their position for life, and may, on achieving the consent of the Sænate, make rules for succession of that title, but the Sænate has the power to overrule such instrument of succession, and appeal to the King in Council to appoint a new Royal Governor.

Where there is a republican title-holder of a Royal Precinct, a member of the Elwynnese nobility or royalty may be appointed to the titular noble title of that Royal Precinct, if in the view of the King in Council, zie is associated with such Royal Precinct by zir own birth or residence, or if one or more of his or her parents or grandparents have been born there or resided there, or if there are other special considerations, as long as that the Royal Governor of such Royal Precinct assents to it.

Functions and Role in Government

Any Royal Governor of a Royal Precinct is free to set up an autonomous government for the subdivision zie was placed in charge of by the Good Graces of the King in the Council of Eliria provided always that such government must be in line with the Constitution of the Elwynnese Union and the Laws made under the aforesaid constitutional document.

Aside from governing zir Royal Precinct, a Royal Governor may also be admitted to the Council of Eliria, the council of advisors of the Kingly Throne of the Flower of the North, as well as be admitted to the Sænate, which is the Upper House of the Royal Parliament.

Insignia

All Royal Governors have a golden chain and a medallion issued to them by the King which denotes zir rank as a Lord/Lady of the Royal Parliament, to be worn when attending the Parliament as well as other formal occasions.

Lord/Lady Deputy

The Lord/Lady Deputy is the King's representative in those Royal Precincts of the Flower of the North of which the Royal Governorship is vested in the White Orchid Throne, to wit: Arietta, Eliria, Jorvik, and the Lady Esther Isles. Zie is appointed by the King alone.
