Fra Trona means "From the Throne" in the Froyalanish and Wintergleamish languages. It is a Vanic cultural and legal term which is since times ancient beyond the memory of woman used to describe an official pronouncement by the Yfirstormarksgythia and High Priestess of the Thingeyri Temple that is considered unquestionable by and absolutely authoritative to the Vanafolk. The Yfirstormarksgythia and High Priestess of the Thingeyri Temple derives her authority to make Fra Trona pronouncements from the Ancient Covenant.

History

The Lady Lilja the Devout, the first High Priestess and foundress of the Thingeyri Temple was the first one to make a Fra Trona pronouncement. Throughout the times after the tenure of the aforementioned Lady Lilja Rígsdóttir the power of the Yfirstormarksgythia and High Priestess of the Thingeyri Temple to make Fra Trona pronouncements has been used extremely seldomly.

The vast majority of Fra Trona pronouncements has been made from the Thingeyri Throne, though every single one of the High Priestessly Throne of the Thirteen Temples, including the Lions' Chair of Valtia, has had its day.

Quite unsurprisingly Her High Holiness the Lady Lilja the Devout, who has issued hundreds of Fra Trona pronouncements, to this very day holds the very ancient records of having made most Fra Trona pronouncements. It is quite unlikely that she will ever be surpassed.

Requirements and Protections

For an official pronouncement to acquire the Fra Trona status and force it must be made publicly from a High Priestessly Throne of one of the Thirteen Temples or one of the Fulltrui Temples. Before making such pronouncement the Yfirstormarksgythia and High Priestess of the Thingeyri Temple making it must also express that the upcoming High Priestessly statement is a Fra Trona pronouncement. The aforesaid pronouncement must also be recorded in writing in the form of a Gyllmára Búlla.

In accordance with the provisions of the Ancient Covenant the Deity or Deities involved can reject any Fra Trona pronouncement, or any part thereof, within thirteen days of its making by the Yfirstormarksgythia and High Priestess of the Thingeyri Temple. Likewise, they can modify, undo or unmake any Fra Trona pronouncement, or any part thereof, at any time should they deem it necessary or expedient.
