Vilhjalm Kormak

Vilhjalm Kormak of Bjarngeir, Jarl of Borgarrike, (born in Liderai (Hurmu), 1569, died in Raikoth, 1652) was a Hurmu cleric and diplomat. Entered politics in Hurmu in his youth, with membership in the Liderai municipal council. Elected to the Senate of the Lakes upon Hurmu's independence in 1599. Ambassador of Hurmu to Stormark (1600–1603). Present in Stormark during the Hurmu genocide, following which he became the leader of the Hurmu diaspora as Chairman of the Congregation of the Temple. Ensured the incorporation of the Temple of the Lakes, at Haraldsborg in 1608. Chief Magistrate of Stormark 1612–1628. Jarl of Borgarrike since 1614. Natopian ambassador to Stormark 1620–1631. High Justiciar of Stormark, 1646–1651. Travelled to and fro Stormark and Shireroth on a Natopian passport and evaded community servitude due to non-Storish blood following the Auspicious Occasion. Attempted to negotiate a settlement between Stormark and Shireroth. Ultimately failed. Confined to a monastery in Raikoth for treatment by order of Steward Liv Dravot in 1652 due to alcoholism (official reason), where he later the same year died of old age according to the government there.
