St. Riksburg
Saint Riksburg is an important port on the River Elwynn, and is located in central Benacia, mid-way between the cities of Mishagrad and Old Mishalan, in Mishalan. Originally founded as Rikstadt by Amokolia around 500 ASC, the city became an important hub for Mishalan as a southern port along the Elwynn. It was here that the Amokolian navy established a facility to patrol the river, and the defense industry helped the city to grow into a metropolis. Cruisers left St. Riksburg to navigate the river south, helping protect Amokolia's eastern boundaries. The city was also chosen by King Jess of Amokolia as the site of his Autumn Palace, which brought culture and grandeur to the city. With the more recent resurgence of growth in Old Mishalan, and the founding of Mishagrad to the south, St. Riksburg's population saw a steady decline. This combined with industry downsizing and the communist government's disdain for the monarchist trappings of the city further led to it being outpaced by other cities. Recently however it has seen a renewed level of interest as a port city, and many have come to appreciate the importance of its cultural history.
