Lancelot Peregrin Grimes is a Shirithian entrepreneur, professional gambler, traveler, politician and actor who serves as the second Governor-Representative of the Royal Iron Company, the Shirerithian branch of the Iron Company. In this capacity, he has served as Minister of the Exterior of the Imperial Republic.
Eary life
Lancelo Grimes was born in the city of Shirekeep, according to the limited sources of information on his life, his parents were lowborn peasants from the Old City. As a young urchin, Lancelot learned the skills of the street, becoming an accomplished pickpocket. When he was around twelve years old, Lancelot discovered the world of professional gambling, quickly learning ways to win, not necessarily by following the rules of the game. During this time, the young man was arrested several times by the Shirekeep City Guard, who gave him the choice between a three year prison sentence or a voluntary exit of the city. It later transpired that this offer was made due to pressure from the local gambling guilds, who where losing substantial amounts of money to the young man.
Career as an actor
Due to his short stature, Lancelot had difficulty finding proper employment after leaving the city. He was rejected by the Imperial Forces and was fired from his job at a tavern for trying to influence a game of dice. Downtrodden and hungry, Lancelot was finally taken in by a group of traveling actors from whom he learned the trade. During his time with the actors group, he played several iconic roles such as that of Kaiser Ari 0 (in a dolphin costume that received lavish compliments from critics) and the main part in an adaptation of Soreaa Isurui's epic poem "Vuzrai Ken-Li".
