The Einhänder was a military research project headed by James Raine. Other research projects from James Raine include the Mobile Weapons Platforms and the Infantry Battle Rig.

There are three main kinds of Einhänder: the Einhänder Mk I, the Astra Mk II, and the Erymethea Mk III. There is also an aquatic version (the Aquatis Mk IV) and a prototype (the Stella Crinita Mk A).

Einhänder Mk I

Name: Einhänder Mk I

Size (Body): 20 ft long, 8 ft high

Wing Size: 20 ft long

Wingspan: 25 ft

Maximum Atmospheric Speed: Mach 2

Armaments: 20mm Machine Gun; other armaments vary

Special Capabilities: Mandible, Radar Jamming

Notes: The Einhänder Mk I is a well-rounded fighter jet capable of holding one person and a very small amount of cargo. Usually outfitted with either a SRP-VCG Vulcan Chain-gun or a LRP-CAN Cannon, the Einhänder is capable of versatile adaptability. Using special weapon attachments clasped in the mandible, the Einhänder is designed to be specialized for situations.

The mandible is also capable of grabbing things besides weapons. Theoretically, the mandible could be used for anything from grabbing a soldier to stealing an enemies’ weapon.

Astra Mk II

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/FaxCelestis/Astra_Mk_2.jpg

Name: Astra Mk II

Size (Body): 18 ft long, 8 ft high

Wing Size: 20 ft long

Wingspan: 25 ft

Maximum Atmospheric Speed: Mach 2.5

Armaments: 20mm Machine Gun; other armaments vary

Special Capabilities: 2 Mandibles, Radar Jamming

Notes: Similar to the Einhänder Mk I, the Astra Mk II is an antigrav fighter jet. It is unlike either the Einhänder or the Erymethea, however, in that it has 2 mandibles instead of just one. These 2 mandibles are both capable of being outfitted with a variety of weapons, and frequently are. Also, instead of flipping the mandible onto the back as the Einhänder and the Erymethea do, the Astra switches the locations of the mandibles. The mandible is also capable of grabbing things besides weapons. Theoretically, the mandible could be used for anything from grabbing a soldier to stealing an enemies’ weapon.

Of a smaller size than the Einhänder or the Erymethea, the Astra is also capable of a higher top speed. However, the Astra had to sacrifice traditional armor for this luxury, and, as such, is more difficult to pilot successfully.

Erymethea Mk III

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/FaxCelestis/Erymethea_Mk_3.jpg

Name: Erymethea Mk III

Size (Body): 25 ft long, 12 ft high

Wing Size: 25 ft long

Wingspan: 35 ft

Maximum Atmospheric Speed: Mach 1.5

Armaments: Dual 25mm Machine Gun; other armaments vary

Special Capabilities: Mandible

Notes: The Erymethea Mk III is much more of an assault craft than either the Astra Mk II or the Einhänder Mk I. For one thing, it is far larger and has heavier armor than either the Astra or the Einhänder. However, this means that the Erymethea is unable to maintain the higher speeds that the Astra and the Einhänder can.

Also unlike the Einhänder or the Astra, the Erymethea does not have a radar-jamming device. This is because the Erymethea is intended to draw the attention of the opponent, and then survive the retaliatory attack, while the less-armored Einhänders and Astras attack their target. The Erymethea makes up for both slower speed and lack of radar-jamming with superior firepower. Two 25mm machine guns are mounted standard on each Erymethea, which is larger than the 20mm single machine gun that is mounted on the Astra and the Einhänder. In addition, the Erymethea is usually equipped with a high-yield gun attachment, such as the LRP-CAN Cannon, the LRM-WSP Wasp Missile Launcher, or the SRE-RAC Riot Arc Cannon, which only adds to the Erymethea’s already superior firepower.

The mandible is also capable of grabbing things besides weapons. Theoretically, the mandible could be used for anything from grabbing a soldier to stealing an enemies’ weapon.

Aquatis Mk IV

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/FaxCelestis/Aquatis_Mk_4.jpg

Name: Aquatis Mk IV

Size (Body): 20 ft long, 10 ft high, 8 ft wide

Maximum Underwater Speed: 100 knots

Armaments: Armaments vary

Special Capabilities: Two Mandibles, Sonar, Radar, Silent Screw Drive

Notes: The Aquatis Mk IV is a foray away from the standard

Einhänders: Instead of being an airborne craft, like the Einhänder Mk I, the Astra Mk II, or the Erymethea Mk III, the Aquatis is an underwater craft. However, it works on the same principles as all other Einhänder craft do.

The Aquatis is most similar to the Astra, having two mandibles. However, the Aquatis does not have any standard-issue weaponry, relying instead entirely on the weapon attachments it holds.

In addition, only the following weapon attachments are usable by the Aquatis: the SRP-VCG Vulcan Chain Gun, the LRP-CAN Cannon, the SRI-SPR Spreader, and the SRF-HDG Hedgehog. All other weapon attachments (as of this point) are unusable by the Aquatis due to problems that would manifest with the weapon.

The mandible is also capable of grabbing things besides weapons. Theoretically, the mandible could be used for anything from grabbing a soldier to stealing an enemies’ weapon.

Stella Crinitia Mk A

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/FaxCelestis/Stella_Crinitia_Mk_A.jpg

Name: Stella Crinitia Mk A

Size (Body): 25 ft long, 8 ft high

Wing Size: 25 ft long

Wingspan: 30 ft

Maximum Atmospheric Speed: Mach 3

Maximum Vacuum Speed: Mach 5

Armaments: Dual 25mm Machine Gun; other armaments vary

Special Capabilities: Mandible, Radar Jamming, Space-faring Vehicle, Increased Cargo Hold Capacity

Notes: The Stella Crinitia Mk A is a prototype fighter jet based off of the Einhänder Mk I. Larger than the Einhänder, the Stella Crinitia is capable of holding two people and a small amount of cargo.

Unlike the Einhänder, the Stella Crinitia also has two larger machine guns, in the same style of the Erymethea Mk III. In addition, it has a larger engine and has a much higher top speed than even the Astra Mk II.

The Stella Crinitia is also capable of brief forays into space and underwater, though both prove problematic after extended periods of time due to pressure problems inside the cockpit. The mandible is capable of grabbing things besides weapons. Theoretically, the mandible could be used for anything from grabbing a soldier to stealing an enemies’ weapon.

There is currently only one Stella Crinitia in the air, and it is undergoing heavy testing.

Weapons Attachments

These weapon attachments are usable by the Einhänder Mk I, the Astra Mk II, and the Erymethea Mk III. The weapon attachments currently ready for use are described below.

Vulcan Chain-Gun (SRP-VCG)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/FaxCelestis/g5.gif

The Vulcan Chain-Gun was modified from aircraft carrier’s deck-mounted weapons. Operating under much the same principle as a gatling gun, the barrels rotate as bullets fire through them. A 6-barrel design was chosen over other numbers of barrels as it had the best “fire rate to heat” ratio. This weapon is mostly used in dogfights for its high rate of fire and versatility. This weapon is also usable by the Aquatis Mk IV.

Cannon (LRP-CAN)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/FaxCelestis/g6.gif

The Cannon was modified from tank turrets. Unlike the Vulcan Chain-Gun’s rapid fire rate, the Cannon instead fires one heavy shot that pierces through most kinds of metal or concrete. Capable of dealing massive damage to a single point, this weapon is mostly used in full scale assault. This weapon is also usable by the Aquatis Mk IV.

Wasp Missile Launcher (LRM-WSP)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/FaxCelestis/g7.gif

The Wasp Missile Launcher was originally designed as a non-targeting missile, but development came up with a method of missiles capable of being targeting or non-targeting. By a simple switch, the Wasp is capable of firing either targeting or non-targeting missiles, the non-targeting missiles dealing significantly more damage but having the disadvantage of being useless against moving targets. It is often used in large battles for its fire-and-forget capabilities. Also useful for taking on stationary targets.

Spreader (SRI-SPR)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/FaxCelestis/g8.gif

The Spreader was originally based upon old-style shotguns, but grew from there to be instead a high-power, high-frequency inaccurate weapon. Designed to be inaccurate, this weapon is most often used against large groups or fast targets. This weapon is also usable by the Aquatis Mk IV.

Grenade Launcher (SRF-GRE)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/FaxCelestis/g1.gif

The Grenade Launcher is a standard attachment for land-based targets. Dealing large amounts of damage over a great area, this weapon loses its effectiveness when used against a fast-moving target. Not being timed, the grenades must connect with something in order to explode. Most frequently used against land-based or slow-moving targets.

Hedgehog (SRF-HDG)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/FaxCelestis/g2.gif

The Hedgehog is similar to the Grenade Launcher in many ways, except for the fact that the shells are timed. Designed mostly for dealing with large mobile targets (such as capital ships), the Hedgehog is utilized most frequently on bombing runs, assaults on capital ships, or strafing traditional troops. This weapon is also usable by the Aquatis Mk IV.

Light Blade (SRL-SBR)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/FaxCelestis/g3.gif

Nearly useless against any target that is moving, the blade deals massive amounts of damage to a single point instantly. Unfortunately, the Light Blade has a high energy requirement and an exceedingly short range. The blade itself reaching barely 15 feet past the nose of the Einhänder Mk1, it is nearly useless against mobile targets but extremely effective against those that do not move.

Riot Arc Cannon (SRE-RAC)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v216/FaxCelestis/g4.gif

The Riot Arc Cannon is a variant on the hand-held tazer stun gun. Frequently used against targets highly susceptible to electricity, the Riot is a favorite of those assaulting larger targets. Unfortunately, the time needed to build up a charge hinders the Riot, making it not the best choice for dogfights.
