This article refers to a part of Shireroth.

The Duchy of Antica was a subdivision of Shireroth. It was created by a Feudal Contract under New Feudalism following the annexation of the Dinarchy of Antica through the Treaty of Aquilaria on 1 December 2005. The structure specified by that contract consisted of a Duke (originally and solely Delphi Augustus) and below him a Chamber of Counts. The Duchy consisted of four counties divided into two baronies. Skiron and Mesoun made up the Barony of West Antica, while Platea (the Duke's county), Kaikias, and Jaris made up the Barony of East Antica.

Following the departure of all former Dinarchial citizens except Baldwin (who won his ideas to preserve some form of Shirerithian Antica no favours by attempting to depose Meskan II and proclaim himself Nicodemus I, in the doing disrupting the Imperial Decree numerals), Meskan decreed the Duchy dissolved in May 2006 via Imperial Decree 232, returning the four counties to the Shirelands. Shortly afterwards, as part of a long-term reconciliation with the Republic of Antica, following the S.N.O.R.E. Conference, July 2006 saw the Treaty of Alcyon ratified by Imperial Decree 243a and all former Antican territories transferred to the Republic.

Part of Kaikias was intended to be retained by Shireroth, but as Antican representative Ruth pointed out during the conference, the territory intended to be retained was not actually in possession by Shireroth, owing to a clerical error. The MCS claimsmap following Antica's claim displays no Shirerithian claim to any portion of Kaikias.

In more recent history, article 2 of the Mango-Owl Pact between Shireroth and the Third Antican Republic saw Shireroth forbid to ever revive this Duchy.

Laws

The laws of the Duchy of Antica consisted of ducal decrees and legislation passed by the Chamber of Counts.

Ducal Decrees

Ducal Decree #001 - Chamber of Counts Procedure

Enacted by Duke Delphi Augustus on 13 January 2006

The Chamber of Counts, in order to be an effective legislative body, needs some basic guidelines on how to function. To that end, the following, as my first Decree within this Duchy, shall be the temporary procedure of the Chamber of Counts. In enacting this decree, I make it known that I am anxious to have the Chamber draft and pass a new set of procedures, at which point I these will no longer be in effect.

Section 1. The Chamber of Counts shall be moderated by the Duke, according to the guidelines set forth in this decree.
Section 2. Any count of Antica may propose a piece of legislation to the chamber. Debate on said legislation may begin immediately thereafter, and ends when either a vote is called, or the legislation is retracted. The latter may be done by either the sponsor of the piece of legislation or the Duke.
Section 3. If there is a motion and a second made to move to a vote on a given piece of legislation, debate will end at that point, and voting will commence once the motion is recognized by the Duke. Such a motion will only be recognized if accompanied by a specification of which version of said legislation, is moving to vote.
Section 4. Voting periods shall last three (3) days, unless otherwise specified. Votes on legislation may be cast as either "aye" or "nay", and each count has one (1) vote. Any piece of legislation that has received more ayes than nays at the end of the voting period shall be considered passed, and go into effect immediately, unless otherwise specified within the legislation.

Whereas, he has begun to litter our lands with his trash and idiocy, and

Whereas, he has shown hostility to us both inside and outside here,

Kuralyov is hereby banned indefinitely from the entirety of the Duchy of Antica.
