Hierogamy

Hierogamy is a sacred marriage between a ruler and a God or Goddess. In Elwynn this cultural term denotes the Wedding of Kingship between the White Orchid Goddess, who since ancient times is the Matron and Sacred Queen of the Flower of the North, and the King of Elwynn which takes place during the Konungstekja, the coronation ceremony of the holder of the White Orchid Throne. The Wedding of Kingship symbolizes the unbreakable and indestructible bond between the Lady Elwynn and the Lands which bear Her Name Divine.
