Republic is a political system based on Democracy where groups of individuals elect official to represent them in the law making process. The Landsraad is a mutated form of Republic government in that the Nobles of the Landsraad "represent" the people in their Duchy or Barony. Technically speaking though, Shireroth is in no form a Republic as the name of the nation implies.
