Vodopád is a small city on the western shores of the River Elwynn in Mishalan. The city was formerly known as Vattna but the name was changed by a decision of the local government to avoid confusion with Vattnaland to the north, even though the origins of the city has cultural ties with that area. Both Vattnaland and Vattna took their names from the local Amokolian expression for waterfalls; a reference to the numerous cascades along the Elwynn. The name of Vodopád means the same thing in Mishalanski. In the case of the city it is a reference to the Vodopád Falls, a large waterfall that spans the entire river, with an average drop of 90 feet. A set of locks nearby allows ships to pass unimpeded by the falls. A very small tourist industry brings sightseers to the falls, but the primary industry is in hydroelectricity, which is sold to nearby cities, such as St. Riksburg and Mishagrad.
