PROCEEDINGS AFTERNOON SESSION

Clerk of the Court-- All rise! The Honourable Royal Instructing Justice of Elwynn, His Riverine Majesty's Advocate, the Arandur Thorgils Tarjeisson is in attendance.

Justice Tarjeisson-- Well, I see we are all here assembled. Please be seated. Will someone please have a care to bring in the Prisoner.

A SHAVED HEADED AND EMACIATED MARGANA WIN'ETH, MANACLED ABOUT HER WRISTS AND WEARING NOTHING MORE THAN A DIRTY COTTON SHIFT, IS BROUGHT INTO THE COURTROOM AND CHAINED TO THE STAND BEFORE THE BENCHES OF THE ROYAL INSTRUCTING JUSTICE

Justice Tarjeisson-- Very good. Countess Margana Win'Eth of Skyla, daughter of the Late Kaiser Brrapa VII, you stand accused of being hateful and insolent to his most gracious and sovereign Riverine Majesty, Thorstein Noah of the Houses of Ayreon-Kalirion and of the Descendants of Freyja, King of Elwynn, Imperial Chieftain of Thule, King of Goldshire, King of Uppland, King of Leng, King of Amokolia, Prince of Arietta, Arvjarl of the Twenty-Six Jarldoms, Storjarl of Stormark, Lord Imperial on All Continents, Prince of Natopia, Prince of Mishalan, Imperial Prince of Shireroth, Lord of the Two Sacred Rivers and the Twelve Peoples, Duke of Froyalan, Duke of Northshire, Duke of the Lady Esther Isles, Býurgreifi of Eliria, Jarl and Grand Elector of Jorvik... excuse me a moment

THE ROYAL INSTRUCTING JUSTICE PAUSES TO POUR A GLASS OF WATER TO WHICH HE THEN ADDS AN AMBER LIQUID PRODUCED FROM A HIPFLASK CONCEALED ABOUT HIS PERSON. HE REGARDED THE GLASS SOLEMNLY FOR A MOMENT BEFORE SIGHING. HAVING DONE SO HE TOOK A SIP FROM THE CONCOCTION, SIGHED ONCE MORE AND THEN CONTINUED.

...Jarl of Bernicia, Marquess of Zy-Rodun, Emir of Alalehzamin and Utasia, Count of Cape Farewell, Llængjarl of Elwynn, Baron of the Fórntida Kærleikalanden, Baron of the Elw, Baron of Opplysta Smørvirket, Baron of Running Bull, Count of Old Araxion, Count of Old Cimmeria, Count Shishin, Count of Elsenar, Count of Storborg, Count of Ancient Wintergleam, Warden of the Flower of the North, Blood-Unifier of the Jewel of Many Facets, Scion of St. Harald, Prince among the Lakes, Scion of the King of Kings, Chief, Head and Patriarch of the House of Orchids. And also of various crimes contrary to the Elwynns Straflov which we shall expound upon in due course. Does the Prisoner wish to save us all the time and trouble of a trial by confessing her hateful nature and her complicity in crimes against the Kingdom of the Beloved Lady Divine whose loving grace and radiance shines upon the land, embracing and humbling us all, as we shall see fit to name?

Margana Win'Eth-- Shove it, windbag.

Justice Tarjeisson-- Duly noted. Let the record show that the Prisoner has proved herself an ingrate and rejected the mercy of this Court. Let the inquisition proceed. I instruct the Clerk of Rolls to read the charges into the record.

Clerk of the Rolls-- The Prisoner is accused of the crime of Treachery (Chapter 3, Article 1) commissioned by herself in conjunction with others in the Imperial Court of her father to carry forward an attempt upon the life of His Riverine Majesty and other members of the House of Ayreon-Kalirion and the Descendants of Freyu through a direct attack on Eliria which took place on the 24th of Araroqpinu in the year 1635. Also deriving as a consequence of this initial act, the Prisoner is accused of Obstruction of the Royal Government (Chapter 3, Article 9), Hindering of the King (Chapter 3, Article 10), the Arming of Privateers (Chapter 4, Article 4) and Confederating with Pirates (Chapter 4, Article 9).

Justice Tarjeisson-- How does the Prisoner plead?

Margana Win'Eth-- Plead? Pirates? This is pathetic. Do what you like, damned Elw. You won the war you confected, so play your little games but I'd sooner be boiled in your shit than have a part in your absurd charade.

Justice Tarjeisson-- Very well. Under Section 6 of the Act of 1640 to Update the Organisation of Bailiwicks and the Judiciary in the Union, I hereby censure the Prisoner for her impious conduct which has proven to be contrary to the values of Societal Harmony and the pluralism and liberty that is the common right of all mankind and the best reflection of the Grace of the Divinity of the Lady Elwynn Herself. Accordingly I order her continued detention as a lunatic and malefactor. The Prisoner is to be taken from this place to an appropriate Wellbeing Clinc within the confines of His Serenity's Gaol at Dragonsfold and there to be pressed until she is ready to make known her plea. Upon which this court will resume its session.

The session is adjourned. Return the Prisoner to her cell.

Margana Win'Eth-- (SHOUTING) Storish hireling! How much are they paying you? What to you get for licking their boots? You've betrayed everyone...

Justice Tarjeisson-- Order! I will have order in this court. Remove that woman.

CUDGELLERS MOVE IN TO SUBDUE THE PRISONER. THE ROYAL JUSTICE STANDS TO DEPART.

Clerk of the Court-- All rise. Court is dismissed.
