Imperial Decree 1008
AYREON IV, by the Kharenah of Zurvan, Qaisar-e Sathratiye, who, by this Imperial Decree, gives unto his subjects and retainers, greetings, and unto the gods of Shireroth, undying and unthinking obsequience.
IMPERIAL DECREE 1008: Revision of Standards
With effect of this decree, an independent advisory board shall be created within the Imperial Household Agency for the purpose of revising and maintaining writing standards for His Imperial Magnificence's Government.
The name of this advisory board shall be the Standards Committee.
The Standards Committee shall have appointed to it a certain number of qualified individuals from the following agencies:
- Four members of the Mango Bar,
- Two Professors of the Linguistics from the University of Sir John Metzler III,
- One Professor of Linguistics from the People's Academy of Elwynn,
- One Professor of Linguistics from the University of Goldshire,
- Two Senior Clerks from the Ministry of Interior Records Office,
- Two Senior Clerks from the Ministry of Exterior Records Office.
Each identified agency shall submit a list of candidates by the first day of the third month of the year 1657 AN. Final membership shall be determined by the Chamberlain of the Imperial Household.
Vacancies in the Standards Committee shall be filled as needed in the same manner. If the appropriate agency is unable to propose a suitable candidate, the Chamberlain of the Imperial Household is empowered to find and appoint a suitable alternative.
The Standards Committee shall select from its membership a director to manage meetings, to coordinate resources, and to resolve disagreements. The Director of the Standards Committee may request that the Chamberlain of the Imperial Household appoint substitute members to replace existing members.
The Standards Committee shall be given two years following the date of this decree to submit a draft Manual of Style to the Golden Mango Throne. The Golden Mango Throne may choose to return it to the Standards Committee with comments for additional revisions, and will formally publish it when satisfied.
Upon its promulgation, all governing agencies in the Imperial Republic shall be required to comply with the new Manual of Style.
