New military organization

Post by Kaiser Mors V »

So I'm dismantling and decentralizing the military. I've decided. I'll decide MoMA's fate later..

but the new organization follows the subdivisions.

All nobles are now military officers, with command of their subordinate nobles.

A Duke commands his Barons, who in turn command their counts.
And the Kaiser commands the Dukes.

Dukes are essentially High ranking generals.
Barons are lesser ranking Generals
Counts of Colonels over their County Militias.

If a Duke is a Baron also he'll have direct control over the counties in his barony, as well as the other barons. Though he can give a field promotion to a count in his barony to operate it for him.

I want ideas on how to work this system out, since every Duke is also a count. In recwars I would assume everyone just commands the militia for their county, but if a duke or baron has the authority to give orders to other barons/counts to do specific missions.

Also, I see this as a way to help select barons. Pick barons for both this political/social aspects and their military skill.

That seems an easy solution. I suppose it gives counts more of a sense of participation when there is a war, and clarifies the role of Baons a little more. So essentially, the Kaiser is a Field Marshal, am I right?

Surely, though, we'll still need this ministry to discuss tactics and military build-ups? Do we even have an order of battle- an entire list of our armed forces?

If I wasn't already one of the chief commanders in Toketi... I might just have to let you all have the honor--nay, the privilege!--of being my parent nation in war. :D

If we had gotten to it during my reign, I probably would have made you Knight-Marshal after the Rankings War. You're experience is matched only by Bayen, I think, but he's already got the title, being King/Emperor and all... :D

Was Tokidoki the right name? I thought it wasn't...

I agree with the man, Jonas! Guess how I felt when they renamed the plain, simple, easy to spell 'Zatriarchate of Matbaa' to 'Ecumenical Synody of Matbaa'. Honestly. I ask you.

Nick--

I've been in micronations only 2 years and I can't begin to keep up with all the countries. I think it would be a great service to all of us if you did bring it back.

I think I saw someone working on a similar project, so I'm gunna wait to see if they finish that before resurrecting the hardest project I've ever done.

Not that the list is hard, but manually editing the HTML pages every few hours, THAT was a pain.

Back in the day things were VERY different. Just keeping that damned thing up to date was making me go insane. But I guess I could re-design it using PHP and a database and save myself some aggravation...

And Ben, different site. 10 for effort, minus several million for correctness.

You misunderstand - I was posting an alternative which has filled the niche. Hence why I said "But go anyway". :P

Things are going fast? Tell me about it. Remember the good old days of the NAM? Well now, only Riponia is the active member left. Alexandria, Natopia, or Matbaa have all died or gone inactive.

Alexandria - were they ever a full member of NAM? Never saw their representatives at the two Natopian revival summits I remember attending... and there was even an Antican there. :P

To all military commanders:

What recourse does a barony or a duchy have if attacked by the forces of His Majesty's own paratooper? This happened today at Port Nevermore while His Majesty was visiting Duke Jonas on a courtesy visit. Confirmation is found at: http://shireroth.kuroshiro.net/forum/vi ... 0&start=30 Just how autonomous are our bases and forces to repell such an attack?

Carol, Baroness of Lumina's Light, and High Commander of Port Nevermore and the Baronial Militia
