*bites his tounge about Menelmacar*You really should read Animal Farm, WarVoid. I though it presented a very nice, if a bit cynical, argument against communism and grand people's revolutions and the like. Re: Countries And Relations
No, Ryan, Aure did not "show me up" (perish the day I get shown up by anyone, I'm an Apolytoner for God's sake!), I mostly agree with her (I'm a limited socialism Scandinavian government type person myself). I like harassing commies because they're usually uptight and deserve it, although definitely not all of them fall under that heading, and because these particular commies have an unhealthy fascination with Stalin and Mao and their ilk. Also, along with sunspots, International Communism is one of the best things to blame for anything that might otherwise be my own fault. It would be interesting to see what Aure thought of Baracao and their endless crazy communist theory discussion stuffness. As for Novikraznolongnamecommieland, I'm just worried that they're really serious about their communism and are going to start thinking of us as a counterrevolutionary monarchist state that needs to be collectivized. Some of them were pushing for collectivization of the Skyline, which bothered me, and Yuri is a part of them, and we all know what that means. I've already seen a thread shift to a discussion of maybe encouraging communist parties abroad and stuff, and their official foreign policy includes "The R.N.K. advocates active class warfare, and will stand with and in support of other socialist nations to that end". My foreign policy philosophy is that since it would be too easy and boring to just recognize every other nation, and such an undiscriminating policy would also mean that my job would be performable by a monkey, a cleverly written JavaScript, or George W. Bush, we should only go recognizing nations with which we really want to be associated, and of whom we really support the foreign policy. I can't support the policies of Novikraznolongnamecommieland, because they may pose an eventual threat to us and in any case are contrary to some of our foreign policy goals, at least so far as I remember, since I have them written in Magic Marker on the back of an old memo which I haven't been able to find for the last month. And, in conclusion, their name wouldn't fit in the fastidiously done table system I have on the foreign ministry site, although that doesn't matter since it's on the Skyline site and I can't access it anyway.ANYWAY...maybe I'll go over there and ask if they can allay some fears. Did I ever say anything that sounded vaguely like the idea of recognizing the longnamecommies? I just wanted to say that the fact that these particular commies seem to have some sort of unhealthy mental disorders doesn't mean that communism as a theory is bad... I just don't like the idea of communism being a scape goat for everything, not that I support it.*reads through Scott's post again**blinks*Well... I just hope this answers that. I'm quiet confused. That last part wasn't addressed to you...just general observations. Maybe I should split up my paragraphs more or something...I seem to have confused the entire country.

Re: Countries And Relations
I'de like to see closer relation between Shireroth and Babkha. Back in the days.. the Early days. When the first Shah was in power, and both nation where somewhat young...Our two nations we good friends. We helped each other out on several occasion. When people where into the Simnation.com game.. Shireroth and Babkha allied together to combat an aggressor. Shireroth had no means to fight yet in that game, but we sent cash, and supplies, and weapons to Babkha to fight the enemy, and sent bombers eventually. and in the LoM, we defended each other when Attera was in one of those we are better than you moods or such. Babkha was one of the first nation to show an interest in the fledgling MCS. The Shah and I discussed making map for Babkha before the entire map was essembled as we know it today... I kinda miss that relationship between our nations.. And.. IF we could get that back, I would be most pleased. Raynor M'JiliadKaiser of Shireroth

Quote:I'm not a vehement communist, I don't support Marxist theory that a revolution is required to make changes to an existing government. That was 1912 theory. This is 2003. It simply doesn't apply anymore. The Communist Manifesto needs a modern revision made to it. The basic premise of communism - the community is the government - is what I believe in. The needs of the people should always take priority over the needs of the bureaucracy.Revisionism, changing the fundamentals of the theory, is a huge threat to Marxism and always has been. Marxism is not dogmatic, it is constantly adapting and being applied to the world. However, the fundamentals remain the same otherwise it is not Marxism. It is a common misconception that the Communist Manifesto laid out a set of policies and ideas for government. Marxism is as relevant today as a hundred years ago because it is a set of theories which look at how the world works. Rather than being a manifesto in the sense of raise taxes by X% and so on, Marxism is a theory that allows us to understand the nature of society and leads to the conclusion that Socialism is the logical next step. You have idealistic socialists, who think that common ownership is simply a nice idea, something to aspire to because it is better than capitalism. Then you have Marxists, or scientific socialists, whose belief in socialism is grounded in a set of theories as laid out chiefly by Marx and Lenin.Quote:Lenin's government wasn't even Marxism OR Communism, it was what he called Bolshevism which was inspired by the ideas of Karl Marx. Effectively Bolshevik = Marxist-Leninist = Communist. Quote:The theory is great, but unfortunately due to the human nature it just cannot possibly work in practiceWe are products of the material world, there is no mystical human nature. The nature of humanity is a reflection of the world around it. That is why the first stage of Communism, Socialism, will build a new man. Removed from the greed and self-interest of capitalism 'human nature' will be different. Ugh. THIS is why political debates are dangerous. There's no end to them. So I just refuse to comment any more... Because it will just go on and on... And we'll end up even more firmly standing on our positions than before, ignoring everything that is said apart from the stuff WE say and bored to death. I rather do something more valuble with my time... Like save the world. "Never let sense conquer nonesense"-- Quixy the god of Madness.

Re: Countries And Relations
It must be realised like Ramon said that Marxism is very relevent today. Marxism is neither dogma, nor a set of set ideas. Marxism, if you can call it "marxism" is a means to make socialism scientific, put it into practice, instead of sitting about day dreaming. Marxism is mostly analysis of history, and capitalismm, it is by no means a way to run Government, and this has caused many problems. Secondly the problem of dogma! It is not a dogma! It is based on the idea of learning from history.Quote:Did I ever say anything that sounded vaguely like the idea of recognizing the longnamecommies? I just wanted to say that the fact that these particular commies seem to have some sort of unhealthy mental disorders doesn't mean that communism as a theory is bad... I just don't like the idea of communism being a scape goat for everything, not that I support it.We're not longnamecommies we're RNK. :)Unhealthy metal disorders?! :lol Some people seem to be economical with the truth, or can't be bothered looking for themselves. ;) We Communists aren't bad, in Britain we were pretty respectable, but theres not many left now. The usual view of communism is an irrational, idiotic bunch of bullshit fed to children by the mass media and the education system, which naturally works in the interests of the state, Fox News is the perfect example. Finally I do not consider El Dorni a Communist, nor North Korea - we're not nutters. Comrade Fidel NicoCitizen of NoviykrazniystanRepublic of Noviykrazniystan
Re: Countries And Relations
Your Majesty, Kaiser Raynor X of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth Your words are very kind and it seems as if Your Majesty and myself are on the same wavelength in respect to the relationship between the Kingdom of Babkha and the Imperial Republic of Shireroth. As Acting Vizier of Foreign Affairs, I am empowered by His Majesty's Government to work with my counterpart in Shireroth so that we can begin a new era of friendship and cooperation. In this new age of micronationalism, I feel it is important that the Kingdom reaches out to all friends - old and new - and builds working and fruitful relationships. United we stand, divided we fall. I feel our two prosperous states must collectively tackle the problems that plague our sector and promote peace between all nations. We must aid each other to block inactivity and work hard to safeguard each of our sovereignty and security. I eagerly await your reply - and in that respect the opinions of the people of Shireroth.

Most honorable Rakesh Maziar Ackbar,I bid welcome to your kind words on the Kaiser's behalf. Unfortunately he is unable to greet you in person as he is away until Wednesday and I am fulfilling his duties in this short period of time.We seek friendship and cooperation in our foreign sector and therefore truly hope that we will be able to surpass our past differences and build a strong fruitful alliance. Only together can we bring harmony and peace to our society. I am certain that you and Scott (as foreign representatives of our nations) will be able to collaborate on a treaty designed to fortify the mutual sympathy between our nations.[edit: corrected a nasty typo in the name] "Never let sense conquer nonesense"-- Quixy the god of Madness.Edited by: Aurefiction at: 6/30/03 11:44 am
