Formal Recognition with Antica
Greetings, I am Bartolomeo Henzelli, Foreign Minister for the Commonwealth of Antica. As per our new policy after a period of isolation, we are moving out and opening our channels of communication with foreign nations. I have prepared a treaty for your perusal. Anything you wish to add, subtract, or modify is welcome, but will lead to prolonged discussions if any requests are considered unreasonable.

Re: Formal Recognition with Antica
Hmm...
*notices that there are 3 treaties with Antica in the archives, none of which are with a Commonwealth thereof*
...I guess this should be looked at properly then...
Welcome to Shireroth! I hope you enjoy your stay! I am Corey Oroigawa, Steward and Minister of the Exterior of Shireroth, and I will be your diplomat for this evening (well, it's evening here...).
This treaty looks to be in order, so I'll pass it on to the Kaiser and the Landsraad for their approval.
*wishes he had nifty gifts like the Ministry of the Interior*

1 and 2: What is the definition of a "legal entity"?
3. Does "internationally respected, delineated and natural boundaries" mean specifically that Antica recognizes our Micras territory? In an internet environment, what does exactly "natural boundaries" mean?
5. What is the definition of an "agent of the state"?

The worst part is, I was MiniEx for that one...
Ok, this is obsolete, then. We're good to go.

http://shireroth.org/shirewiki/Foreign_Affairs is even more out of date... I suggest just removing the content from it and putting in a link to http://shireroth.kuroshiro.net/forum/vi ... =11&t=7335.

No! That wiki page is the proof I did something!
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

Indeed, but the treaty archive and the state of foreign affairs list are artifacts of work done by Ric, Scott and me, and they're right in your face when you enter the MiniEx forum

Btw, since I was feeling all MiniExific, I updated the economy section in that big allcaps announcement at the top of this forum... and a couple of tiny wording bugs elsewhere...

Re: Formal Recognition with Antica
So in my hasty failure to look up any existing treaties, does this mean my request is actually unnecessary?

My apologies about the smilies. I'm on DSL and they slow me down sometimes, too.
But yes, it is unnecessary, and further talks are (or soon will be, rather) in the works in your home nation. It was nice of you to visit though!

Re: Formal Recognition with Antica
So, Ambassador Henzelli. I've brought this up with every Antican ambassador who's come here, but none of them have listened. Maybe you'll be different.
I like to read what's going on in foreign countries. This is usually pretty easy. In Antica, it isn't. People are always referring to stuff that I can't find. I think it's because many of the most interesting Antican forums are invisible to foreigners. This makes it hard for foreigners to participate or even observe your country, and detracts from Antica's international profile and goodwill. Obviously there are some forums you can't show people, like military and intelligence, but I wish you'd let people see some of your basic conversation areas.
Disclaimer: I may be missing something obvious.

Not to take the thunder from Henzelli, it's just that I'm left scratching my head wondering what I did wrong with the permissions.

I could have sworn the Assembly was invisible yesterday, but now it's not anymore. Either someone saw this and fixed it, or it was demons.
