Istvanistani is the demotic or popular language]] as it is used in Shireroth. Evolving organically it is traders tongue that is mongrel of Praeta, Old Istvanistani, and Yardistani.

The variety has a number of peculiarities including the words 'proly', meaning "probably"; and 'yerp', meaning "yes"; in well as some unusual grammatical structures, as in 'I am got the chair', and uncommon letters, such as 'æ'.

Not all citizens use this peculiar variety, but it is commonplace in Shireroth, especially amongst older citizens.

It isn't entirely consistent, either. For instance, in Yardistan the word 'Shirerothian' is more common than 'Shirithian', and there has been some debate, historically, about which term should be used. Both terms have been somewhat supplanted by Shirerithian.
