The Vanafolk Maxims are a collection of succinct formulations, ancient beyond the memory of woman, of fundamental principles, general truths, and rules of conduct for the Vanafolk. They constitute a very important part of Vanic Law.

List of Vanafolk Maxims

  • Anyone can pray to the Gods in whatever manner zie likes.
  • Be bare or be square.
  • Beauty must not be covered up.
  • Being deeply loved by someone gives one strength, while loving someone deeply gives one courage.
  • Before the Gods, we are small. With the Gods we walk tall.

  • Do as the Gods say, and good things shall come your way.
  • Everything that lives is born out of sex, including the soul.
  • Faith is a gateway to life, not a substitute for it.
  • Faith is responsibility, or it is nothing at all.
  • Keep on smiling!
  • Let the beauty you love be what you do.
  • Sacred sexuality is the normal function of the body, and when it is nourished, cherished and maintained, so is our health, happiness, and contentment.
  • The female body is the source of creation, the sacred fount from which all life emanates.
  • The Gods love us, this we know; for they have told us so!
  • The Gods will not do anything for us that we will not do for us ourselves.
  • The only way to have a friend is to be one.
  • There is nothing in all the world more beautiful or significant than the nude human body.
  • Truth is in the heart of the beholder.
  • We are what the Gods have made us.
  • What do we want? Everything out!
