Dirâsat-an-Nûr

The Dirâsat-an-Nûr ("Examination of the Light") is an imperial school located within the vicinity of the Bâb-an-Nûr in the Outer Bailey of Raynor's Keep. Its primary purposes is to train Imperial Pages for service, as well as provide educational services to the Imperial Family.

Its staff and operations are overseen by the Dean of the Dirâsat-an-Nûr, Matti Pshevunin.

Education of Imperial Pages

Prospective pages are recruited and supervised separately by the Master of Pages from the Imperial Gymnasia when they reach the age of 11-12 years. Selection is based upon the aptitude and apparent quality of the specimen. After an initial trial year, an age set is reduced to consist of solely the top performers, and then they are considered Novice Pages. Upon reaching 15 years, Novice Pages go through another round of selection in order to become Qualified Pages. There, they remain another five years, at which point they are elevated to the status of Adept Pages. Thereafter, they are typically recruited for service elsewhere in the Imperial Court.
