The talks between Emperor Mik'el Tzion of Attera and Kaiser Mors were suspended by the latter today, following strong statements by Lorelei founder Ryan Caruso concerning Lorelei's fate.

Prior to the recess in the talks, during which the Emperor had intended to bring his subjects in line over the debate over the Atteran Commonwealth, an agreement over Lorelei seemed to be near at hand. The main points of the Condominium had been established, and after the Emperor returned, he seemed willing to embrace them.

But by that time, the Kaiser seemed to have taken a different tack. Citing "concerns" communicated to him by Shirerithians over the deal, he suggested a scaling back of the deal. This is believed to be connected to questions over a perceived softness in his previous dealings. In addition, he also rejected a request for the Emperor to be acknowledged as "Guardian of Lorelei" and granted a "nifty imperial order". The Emperor later stated that these requests were made in jest.

Although the Emperor was unable to accept the proposed shortened schedule for the Condominium, due to his future deployment in the military, he suggested a different proposal, involving the partition of Lorelei into two parts. The Kaiser rejected the notion, noting that partition of countries does not traditionally have a happy ending.

In the same statement, His Majesty also made known his decision to adjourn from the talks. He cited a recent strong statement, made in response to one of the Emperor's speeches, by Ryan Caruso, veteran micronationalist and the creator of Lorelei, in which he states his opposition to the Emperor's claim. The Kaiser insisted that the Emperor and Mr. Caruso would have to come to some agreement over the matter before Shireroth could continue with talks.

New Baron in Hurmu?

The Barony of Hurmu recieved a change in leadership with the appointment of Harald, also Viking Emperor of Stormark, as Baron. A new citizen, just mast his minorcy period, Harald has been active in the Hurmu forum since before he joined Shireroth, and was appointed to replace the relatively inactive Troy Thompson.

Speaking of Troy, aside from being Emperor of San Martin, he has also proclaimed the re-emergence of Slobovia. Dear God.

GREG!!!

Speaking of corpses rising from the dead: Greg's back! Yardistan shall rise again!
