View from Benacia/Issue 58: Arminy Creatnig New Barony

In his first decree as Duke of Arminy, Johanns fonn Klosso established Shireroth's newest Barony in its newest Duchy, thus bringing the total number of subdivisions in the country up to fourteen.

Ducal Decree 1 establishes the Barony of Hurmu within the Duchy of Arminy, appointing Troy Thompson as its Baron. The other resident of Hurmu will be well-known Shirerithian Ric Lyon, who will retain his role as Count of Elwynn. The new Barony will thus be one of the largest in Shireroth in terms of land on the MCS map, on the same order as Lac Glacei.

This arrangement benefits greatly from the fact that, at the current time, Elwynn is in the process of being temporarily transferred to Arminy, in order to allow Ric Lyon to continue his cultural work there. Ric began his work when he was resident in the Duchy of Hyperborea, creating a version of the Charter in the Elwynnese language (and the language itself) and writing up laws for his County. The Pan-Hyperborean Council is currently voting on a proposal to transfer Elwynn to Arminy in exhange for the Vaan Aujoen Islands (province of the Ysyn). Meanwhile, Arminy has already agreed to lease the islands.

The transfer, as it stands, is set to last until March 21st, at which time it will be decided whether or not to make the transfer permanent.
