A Mystery Solved

The View has been informed that the mysterious Admiral Quirk is none other than an incarnation of Jacobus, an infamous and colorful character in the micronational world. Ah, well, that's explained, at least.

Hear, Hear!

Following the publishing of the first issue of the View, there was an amazing outpouring of goodwill and acclaim ("amazing" being defined as "more than zero"). Among those welcoming the new newspaper to the micronational world were His Majesty the Kaiser, the Minister of Military Affairs, the Baron of Hallucination, and WarVoid, recently emigrated from Shireroth and a former writer for the Skyline. WarVoid has made a generous offer to this editor to act a broker. selling the editor's soul to Satan in return for a reduction of the workload involved in writing this paper. (More news on the possible acceptance of that offer as the story progresses.)

As a result of the accolades, the immediate future of the View as a regular news source has been assured. Many thanks to all those who have praised the work of this newspaper.

Looking for Closure

The Closure/Extension Amendment was proposed in the Landsraad earlier today. The brainchild of the Duke of Yardistan, this bill has been put forth in order to clarify the process of closing and tallying votes; it provides for a normal voting period of four days, with the possibility of extension to seven days by the Prtor at any point within those seven days.

This bill is widely seen as a rival to the Prtorial Powers Amendment put forth by the Duke of Hyperborea. In his own attempt to clarify the extension process, Duke Locke proposes that the Prtor only be permitted to declare an extension during the first four days. Debate between supporters of the two bills has been heated, and it remains to be seen which one... if either... will be passed.

The Return of Darkstar

In a surprising revelation, it was revealed at the Temple that presumed newcomer, Kitsuki Rai, is in fact none other than Eros Darkstar, returned from retirement to join Shireroth once again! Welcome back, Eros! May I say, you have made a truly memorable re-entrance.

It can only be wondered how this unexpected turn of events will affect Eros' chances at becoming Prtor... assuming, of course, that he is still in the running.

Clear-Cutting in Elwynn!

It appears that the Baron of Elwynn and Emir of Raspur, Ardashir Khan Osmani, holds just a tiny grudge against everyone's favorite demon tree, Malarbor. After seeing the results of a poll on whether or not the Tree had declared war on him, confirming the Baron's suspicions, he was overheard to have said that his plan was "to fell the tree and make an ikea desk set with the timber off course."

While the timing of this statement may be coincidental, Malarbor's recent announcement that "Malarbordates (like an update, only better) may be sporadic for the duration of the convention" makes it seem that something more sinister is, in fact, at work. If the Demon Tree sees fit to leave his appointed duties so abruptly to attend a convention, perhaps even he fears the might of Ardy's chainsaw.
