The Rivalry Heats Up!

In a pitiful attempt to shorten the recent surge ahead in post count by its nearest rival Brookshire, Yardistan has started a Capital of Turkey thread. Citizens are encouraged to go there and add their posts and to increasing randomness. Although the View is admittedly and unashamedly pro-Brookshire in this matter, we do this in the interests of competition, increasing activity, kindness, and a desire to see Yardistan try desperately to reattain Brookshire's greatness.

Muhahahaha! Run, fools, run, and try to catch up! :p

A Shirerithian Calendar?

Kaiser Raynor XI today announced that he is seeking names for days and months of the Shirerithian calendar. In the words of His Majesty, there are:

"13 months. 14 days to a week. 2 weeks to a month. once a year there is a day that is NOT part of these defined days, basicly a Missing day.. it exsists physically.. but not really on the calander. Proly will be the New Years of the calander. Using the Winter Solsice of 2000 as the 0 marker. The Calander will also have another missing day on Feb 29th (when they exsist) since unless I want to recalibrate what a second is I can't really fix that problem.."

His Majesty also said,

"I'de like them related to the B0O0/\/\ist gods, and I can always rearange the order so, don't worry to much about that.

hmm... I believe I shall be creating a New award soon, for service to the nation, activity and general spiffiness. I'll offer anyone who comes up with an acceptable list of names the first of these awards... If people work together.. I might make more awards..hehe"

So get cracking on those names, people!

Access Denied

The Kaiser has been a busy boy in other areas, too. Imperial Decree #134 takes care of the matter of a bloated Landsraad by removing all Ministers who aren't already Nobles from being able to post. In order to speak on a matter that involves them, a Minister must request to be summoned by the Landsraad to speak. It is hoped that this will make discussions in the Landsraad a little bit quieter and organized, and keep down the number of people able to post.

Could BAM Become DAM?

The Baron of Amity and Mirioth today requested that the Kaiser upgrade his Barony to a Duchy, having reached the required number of people. While this has met with approval from some, and although the Kaiser himself favors the idea, concerns about the fate of the parent Duchy of Yardistan seem to be threatening the move. Unless Yardistan proper can gain enough citizens to bring it up to minimum without BAM, there may be no changes in subdivisions anytime soon.
