Debate continues to rage in the Landsraad and the Front Gate over future moves to disassociate MicroWiki from Shireroth. The first bill, the Separation of Wiki and State bill, would have removed the wiki entirely from the power of the Shirerithian government, although it still would have been under the primary control of Shirerithian citizens, Fax and Moose.

Although most citizens seemed willing to trust the two to administer the Wiki effectively, strong reservations were still expressed toward the idea. Some objected solely to the principle of lessening direct Shirerithian control; others feared what might happen if Fax or Moose ever left their duties, and yet others were angered at what have been perceived as veiled threats by the Commonwealth to open their own competing wiki if their demands were not met.

A new plan, proposed in part to deal with some of these objections, came in the form of the Wiki Regulation Act. It attempts to ensure Shirerithian domination, but not complete control, of the wiki by suggesting a governing body led by a Shirerithian with only that one citizenship, with the rest composed entirely of people who are dual-citizens with both Shireroth and a contributing nation. In order to remain on the council, each citizen must be active not only in the wiki but inShireroth as well, or else risk losing citizenship.

This bill has received a much more favorable response than the previous one, but there have been issues raised with the whole notion of a governing body. The View will continue to keep an eye on events.

In additional news, Kaiser Yarad I issued a Proclamation on the government's new Attera policy. As you may remember, the Solomonic Empire of Attera deposed its Emperor last month in favor of Empress Jihan I, represented by a regency council tasked with reforming the country. Until recently, no statement had been made one way or the other.

The Kaiser, however, positively welcomed the results of the revolution, especially its particularly traditional character, and pledged to "maintain or renegotiate its treaty with the Atteran people, provided that friendship is continued between the two nations."
