Kildfare is a transportation company for Kildare, run by the Saenad. It includes both railway and ferry systems. Kildfare - "We stop for nobody!"

Kildarian Railways

The first and major part of Kildfare, Kildarian Railways was established in 3752 ASC, during the Great Railways Boom that swept Shireroth. Encompassing three major lines, Kildarian Railways links from Port Nevermore in the far north west to Apollo City in the far south east. In between it stops at all the major cities along the coastline, goes through the capital, Blackrock Nua; and has a line (largely with tunnels) going right through the mountains in the centre of Kildare.

With the Kildarian love for historical technology, both steam and diesel trains run along Kildare Railways.

Kildare Ferry Lines

Kildare Ferry Lines has a vast ferry system linking Port Halluci, on the coast of Lake Christoph in the very centre of Kildare; with Saktra, Melangia in the far flung eastern isles. Kildare Ferry Lines stops all along the River Antya, connecting a string of cities ignored by Kildarian Railways with Port Halluci and Apolytown. Moving beyond Apolytown, Kildare Ferry Lines cruise along the open seas and stop at each of the major cities in Atterock. Tour groups can arrange to be attacked by natives when passing Gong Li; sea serpents when passing the Raynor Isles; and pirates when passing Norfolk. Kraken or Leviathen viewing costs extra, and requires the signing of several indemnity forms and liability wavers.

Shareholders

In 3944 ASC, Kildfare floated on the SC Stock Market; with the Seanad retaining a 40% stake. Kildfare Shareholders now have the power to vote on the placement of new lines; the types of vehicles used; and the fares charged. The main restriction placed upon Kildfare shares is that no more than 49% of the company can be owned by non-Shirithians - if this occurs, each non-Shirithian shareholder will have their voting power proportionally reduced until Shirithian shareholders number at least 51% of the vote.
