Ashkenatzimbergen (Ashkenatza of the Mountains) is a small city located in the south-central hills of Mishalan. The city was created by an edict of King Jess during the collapse of Ashkenatza as a place of refuge for expatriates fleeing the country. The city swelled with Ashkenatzi and quickly grew into an industrial center. Despite being established on the pretense of offering sanctuary for Ashkenatzi, it was later discovered that King Jess had been using the city to hoard gold shekls stolen from Ashkenatza during its downfall. The unearthed loot was later distributed among the expatriate population by the Soviet regime of Mishalan. Today the city is best known as being one of the very few locations left on Micras that still retains elements of Ashkenatzi culture.
