Annexation

Annexation is defined by Google, the standard repository for all knowledge in the universe, as "The act of adding, joining and attaching one thing to another." However, most Yardistanis agree that annexation is defined as "Slapping a sticker on and/or making legal notice of the claiming of anything and everything under the sun in the name of Yardistan."

For some time, the annexation of James Raine was hotly contested. Even though the YAC had claimed both James Raine and the ability to ignore annexation, James Raine claimed that ignoring annexation was an active trait, and he had an anti-annexation aura. This aura had nothing to do with him; rather, it was a semi-sentient entity that decided it liked being around James Raine and his posessions. In the field of the aura, items could not be annexed, because the universe didn't understand what annexation was.

Unfortunately, the YAC saw a way around this: by annexing the anti-annexation field itself, the YAC could thereby claim that they owned the aura and could do with it what they pleased, and then moved it off of James Raine and his posessions and succinctly annexed James Raine.

Even though the list of Yardistani's acquisitions is in alphabetical order, James Raine insisted he be placed at its top because of the fight that the YAC went through to acquire him. This was agreed to, but later ignored. Now James Raine is a happy possession of the YAC, and has allowed a number of his possessions and friends to be annexed, up to and including his fiancee Val.
