Erik, shall we have a truce? We are both capable of defending our positions ad infinitum.
We disagree.
OK, so we disagree. Do we have to stoop to the level of Congressmen?
Truce?

Re: Truce?
Not to sound like a three year old..(You started it!
) but.. you are the one that dragged me into the Jonas debate. I've done my level best to stay out of it, and simply argue on the Amendments themselves. And on that front I've tried to not use the Founder authority. But you keep invoking it for me with this whole "Say No to Erik" campaign.
Everything I've said I meant, maybe not as strongly as I've said it, but I have meant it all. I am working to protect the Charter and the future of Shireroth. *sleep*

Of course you are doing what you think is right for Shireroth. That is not an issue.
I got deeply involved in micronationry by defending newbies against Powers that Be. Seeing Jonas nailed to the wall for doing what he (and I) see as right brings ugly flashbacks. (Not that Jonas is a newbie by any stretch of imagination).
You express a desire to not have to forcefully "fix" things, and then try to do just that.
I'm just as bad (or worse), trying to defend myself and those of like mind.
Neither one of us is Kaiser, or even a member of the Landsraad. There are lots of other smart people here - people who care. They all know how we feel. Why don't we let them fix it, whatever that means?
EDIT:
I really don't need to go to war about this. I've got a lot on my plate in RL. This is not my creation, although I've given it a lot over the last year or so.
So, I'll take some of my own advice. Maraguo beckons, and I should at least dust the FRC.
I'm not resigning my citizenship. I'll be around in Yardistan and in the Shrine. I'll spend some time mucking about on the the wiki. If the new charter is unacceptable, I can make choices for myself at that time. Everybody knows my opinions to the third power, and there is no sense in saying it 17 more times.

Re: Truce?
Why can't you just wait for the Praetorial election to be over? If Jonas wins, Erik's can't do what he wants (for now) and should shut up. If Erik wins, he gets the chance to revoke those amendments and Jacobus should shut up. There's really no reason for you to be arguing with each other. Try and convince the undecided Dukes.

Re: Truce?
We don't need to wait for the election. The Landsraad has the power at this time to deal with the situation, they just have not done so. And I just gave the Landsraad the tool to deal with the situation, and it won't require removing Jonas to get the Amendments removed if they want and he doesn't.
