TREATY OF SHIREROTH

AFFIRMING the spirit of friendship and cooperation on which relations between the two nations are based, and wishing to place their relations on an closer and more solid foundation;

DECLARING that both nations formally recognise and respect each other as independent and sovereign nations, including each other's sovereign territories: websites, message boards and other real or virtual property under direct or indirect control of their respective governments, as proclaimed by them and as long as respecting others micronations'' sovereignty under international law and Intermicronational convention, and refuting claims of annexation by any party;

ACKNOWLEDGING the importance to each nation of the relationship and the close connection between them;

RESOLVED to evaluate and pursue opportunities for their governments and their peoples to work closer together in a spirit of understanding on matters of mutual interest;

CONVINCED of the importance of creating, developing and maintaining relations on an equitable and mutually advantageous basis in a long-term perspective;

RECOGNISING at cooperation between the two nations should have their common interest in the prosperity and welfare of both nations;

RECOGNISING full diplomatic immunity of King Andreas the Overtitled of Novatainia, and his appointed Minister and Ambassadors; and full diplomatic immunity of Kaiser Ayreon the Ordinaless, and her Minister of the Exterior, Oroigawa Koreyasu, or other appointed delegate;

AFFIRMING that each contracting party has the right to appoint an ambassador to the other contracting party, where each contracting party is allowed to demand immediate removal of the ambassador at any time since arrival and without notice;

OFFERING to trade resources with one another for mutual benefit;

BELIEVING that should one nation be attacked, or any brother of our nations be unduly persecuted, both nations agree that an armed attack or threat against one of them shall be considered an attack or threat against both, except where this conflicts with a previous treaty of either party.

HAVE RESOLVED to conclude this treaty and for that purpose sign to indicate acceptance as follows:

First,

Second,

I think that clause I just editted should include future Kaisers of Shireroth and future Kings of Novatainia, just in chase (also, knowing the lifespan of Kaisers).

Third,

"Treaty of Shireroth" is bland. Find a nice city, eh? Perhaps, "Treaty of New Nova" or "Treaty of Sakatra" or summat? (trying to pick cities that are in close proximity to the other nation)

Title - tis a Novatainian tradition to put the name of the nation we ally with in it. If you'd like to name it more specifically, you're welcome to in your copy.

Fair enough? And shall I bypass the Landsraad and simply have this decreed into effect? (since these kinds of things never make it there for weeks anyway)

Excellent. Actually, that clause (later rulers) is a good one ... I'll add it into our standard treaty.

Um ... decree it if you like. Once its official we can start talking about trade

I'll give it a few days, see if anyone moves it to the Landsraad (can't let them get lazy ), and if it's still not there after that, I'll just decree it.
