Dolor Objects to a vote..

Your vote on the economic bill. Dolor completely and formally objects to the Duke's vote of Aye on the matter.
The system weakens Brookshire within the Landsraad. And in protest. No funds ever to be found within the Barony of Dolor will be counted as usable. How this is to be implemented, I do not know. But I will make it so.

If the economic system weakens Brookshire, why don't you try making some money to increase the power of the vote of your Duke?
And while it isn't my place, I must say I find it ridiculous for you to withdraw your erbs - thus weakening Brookshire still further - in protest at the weakening of your Duchy.

Baron Erik, thank you for proving that the system works. Now you have a way of influencing me besides making me feel guilty, and your influence is in proportion to your status as an active and important citizen. I anticipate this sort of thing becoming quite common and giving a new dynamic to the feudal system that provides a necessary counterbalance to the ability of a Duke to override his subjects.
I know Mike Fors has money, because he earned it as a citizenship bounty for Bill Bekkenhuis. I will lobby the Ministry of Trade to add it to his account. I've already got a 22E commission to design weaponry for a Ducal militia to be named later. And then Yvain Industries and any other people in this Duchy who want to enjoy the new economic system in the spirit of hard work and cooperation in which it was intended will earn more.

All I have is words. There is no system in place to actually subtract my EURrb from your vote. The system is already failing as I see it. And the system is failing you as a Duke who should be trying to maintain his power. You are now impotent, at the mercy of a disgruntled barony. I control the vote of this duchy. How is that the correct way to run a feudal state?

I would comment on the issue, but I honestly haven't made my mind up yet. I do note with interest, however, the recent mad scramble to establish businesses at the MiniTrade. Perhaps this will impart some level of function somewhat above that which currently exists, with (hopefully) a sizeable Brookshirian representation.

I will personally refuse to use your votes, because I care about your opinion and about the integrity of the process, so don't worry about coming up with a system.
Right now no, it's not the correct way to run a feudal state, because for some inexplicable reason you have all the erb in the Duchy. I trust the government to allocate erb more fairly in the future. Once that's done, I will have the most erb if I do the most work for the Duchy, and you will only be able to control the vote of the Duchy if you're the only active and productive citizen in the Duchy.

Brookshire is not at the mercy of your vote. Yvain can easily earn his own Erb. Which should be the case anyway, since he's a leader in the country.

I love the way Yvain says this is proof of success and Erik says this is proof of failure.
It's a failure of Brookshire.

Yvain does some wheeling and dealing at the Ministry of Trade.
There. Now I think I'm richer than Erik, or will be once all these deals go through. And our economic system is totally, hopelessly broken. I should, y'know, do something about that. Or something.

Now that the rest of us have some money and you hopefully realize that holding the whole Duchy hostage and acting like a petulant child isn't going to get you anywhere, let's make a deal.
I think the Kehl as proposed in the Kehl Creation Act is a waste of time, myself, and plan to vote no on it if it's introduced before the Landsraad. But you said earlier today that we should do it...
Erik Mortis wrote:...for fun. Because if we don't want it later we can just turn it off; so it does no harm to have it.
So, here's the deal. I'm willing to vote yes on the Kehl, on the grounds that it'll be fun and we can always just turn it off later, if you're willing to support the new economic system on the same grounds by agreeing to let Brookshire use your erb.

Nah.. I expected it to fail... I'll just try again some other time when people actually like the idea and it has a chance of passing.

Erik, if you don't want your erb to be counted in protest either:
a. Start a Shirekeep account for you and put them all there.
or
b. Give them away. Then you have none to be counted.

You could apply to the Fund for a grant or a low interest loan, but we don't have any money, so you'd go on a waiting list.

Automat Inc. Has a great deal of funds. Should you wish to take out a loan, please just PM me, with the amount. I will determine an appropriate time line and payment plan.

Baron Erik, I saw you post somewhere that you had already transferred your funds in Shirekeep, so I am assuming all the money in the bank under Brookshire is usable votes. If that's incorrect, please tell me so I don't accidentally vote with your money.
