The struggle to survive (Role Playing)

Post by Jonas »

It was late in the evening when the coach arrived at Curagh Castle, the famous castle-hotel built in 2026 to honour Gryphon the Pure.
The coach stopped at the gate of the castle. A servant opened the door of the vehicle.

It was windy and cold, like always in Curagh. It was snowing.
A man left the coach, and with the help of the same servant that had opened the door of the vehicle. Hand in hand they reached the large gate.
With the only free hand from the servant, the servant nocked on the gate.

"Who is there?" asked a voice.
"It's me!" cried the master of the servant, "Come on, open this gate! I'm old and freezing!"
Next to the gate opened the service entrance. A soldier looked to the old man and said: "Alright. Come in!"

The soldier brought the old man and his servant to the second floor, where the gathering room was.
In the room it was warmer then outside, but there wasn't much difference. It was dark, and without the warm glow of the burning chimney it would be freezing in the room (told something about the isolation of the castle-hotel).
The servant took the coat from his master and he knew he needed to leave the room.

After the servant left the room the door to the balcony opened and a man came in.
"Welcome, Mr Muragh," he said. The old man who's name was Muragh coughed, put down himself on a chair and looked in the face of the man.
"Good evening, commander Zirk." Muragh said.

"What where you doing on the balcony, Zirk?" asked Muragh uninterested to start the conversation.
"Muragh, you know I love the cold." said Zirk with an evil smile. "From now on it will not last long before whole Shireroth is 'cold'!"
"Hehe, you're right Zirk. Your plan is working."
"Of course it does! To be honest, I didn't even know that it would be so easy to let those Shirerithians fight each other."
Zirk sat down in a comfortable seat next to a desk and looked to a map.
"Muragh, my loyal agent and friend in Brookshire, you know why I am here. Don't you?"
"What do you mean with 'here', Zirk? In Kildare or Curagh."
"Curagh, my friend. Look to this map." Muragh stand up and looked to the map on the desk. The underwater palace, rediscovered by Andreas the Wise, was circled with a red colour.
"Ow yes. Because of this war I almost forgot about that," Muragh said.
"WHAT?!" the evil smile of Zirk was replaced by a very angry face. "YOU ALMOST FORGOT THE MOST IMPORTANT..."
"Ssstt!" whispered Muragh, "whole Curagh can hear you!"
Muragh and Zirk where sitting in there chairs again and looked to each other. Zirk calmed down and began a new conversation: "The palace isn't far of the Curagh coast. If the war goes further I will demand that the palace comes under my command. If the palace with it ancient technology is destroyed, the Imperials can rule the world again!"
"Yeah, yeah. Very smart of you, doctor Evil :rolleyes " Muragh looked away from Zirk to the nearest window. "But I don't get everything: how did you get Hasan far enough to appoint Ric as Kaiser?"
Zirk's evil smile was even more scary then on other occasions (like on Imperial reunions when there where 'evil smile'-contests).
"Who said that Hasan appointed Ric?"
Muragh looked scared to Zirk and whispered: "But we know... I have seen... I murdered..."
Zirk stand up.
"It's late, my friend. Let I call your servant, he will bring you to your room."
When Muragh was brought to his room, Zirk looked trough the window. He saw the small, peaceful village Curagh.
"Chaos and war is needed to secure order and Imperial dominance," whispered Zirk to himself. With still an evil smile on his face.

A servant knocked on the door and after heard the words "Come in!" he walked in the room.
"Master, the civil war is over."
"What?! That's impossible! NOOOO!!! My plans are ruined!"
He walked to the desk, took some dynamite and:
