Shireroth

First, combining the two nations of Babkha and Shireroth would not be devistating, although both would lose their national identity, to an extent.

Second, since we have the same leader for both nations, and this should be recognized by the subjects of both nations, I propose this plan.

Part One (Internal Government)

Neither nation shall interfere with eachothers internal government, Landsraad shall not make rules for Babkha, and the Majilis shall not make rules for Shireroth. The two nations shall have their own forums, flag, etc.

Part Two (External Government)

The two nations shall be represented as one Empire, in external affairs, and represented as one colour on the MCS, which will be the only map the Empire shall belong too.

Part Three (Citizenship)

Having citizenship in both nations will qualify as one citizenship.

I'm pretty sure there would be serious trouble if we were the same colour on the MCS. So much land under one colour is conspicuous.

Well I think it would negate all the work that both Shireroth and Babkha did to get their individual nations land back. And as you said, that much land for anyone is bound to restrict either Babkha or Shireroth from expanding again.

Equally, being the same colour makes us too big. Benkern, Council thoughts?

It's a toss up. I think it's an issue best side-stepped than risked. However, if it were to come to the Council, I reckon it's more likely than not that they'll allow the colour-merge... but later on, there may be difficulties, and other members may not like it.

Well as far as I can see its only "babs" who is opposed to Shireroth and Babkha retaining their colours separately. And if babs is not a council member, I don't consider his opinion of this issue to be of any relevance.

Sharing a dynasty does not constitute a common nationhood - the empire of Charles V was a multi-national pan-European affair more akin to a proto-European Union than an actual unitary Kingdom or Empire. The Kingdoms of Scotland and England did not cease to be independent of each other when King James came south to London, indeed under his son they even managed to fight a succession of wars against each other. Similarly the Irish Free State established after the Irish War of Independence was an independent entity even though it retained for a time the British Monarch.

A YAMO broadly based on the Commonwealth of Nations (Former British Commonwealth) might be the best way forward.

The Shah is going to see how his health progresses. If all be well he will resume his reign, if not he will abdicate, most likely now in favour of our gracious Kaiser. Until that decision is made, Hasan is Regent.
