A silly dream

Post by andelarion »

Some of us, noncombatants, Europeans and Africans we were. Then suddenly we were captured! By Americans. They told us we were prisoners of war and took us to an old school where we were locked up. We could move relatively freely in the old school. There was a library, they even had lawbooks. So we looked in them, trying to find laws and rules regarding prisoners of war. We hadn't even fought anyone!

But nay. We found a chapter in the books on the Geneva Convention, but the pages were ripped out. Guess who...

We were stuck. These Americans had us in their power. :P

Does that mean we're all schizophrenic too? Remember the camp song:

I'm going crazy, why don't you come along?

We must be crazy to sing this song.

USA's P.R. Sucks. We used to be the people who liberated this sort of thing, even in dreams.

Crap. :rolleyes

Go back to sleep. :sleep See if the French liberate you.

I've a scenario or two wherein the Force de Frappe saves civilization.

Please pardon my cultural illiteracy, but what is the Force de Frappe? That term does not seem to have made it across the pond.

The Force de Frappe is the French nuclear deterent. Part of the way they stake their claim to being independent from America/NATO.

Britain on the otherhand has some sort of bizarre arrangement whereby we own and develop the nuclear warheads but America owns the missiles (Trident) but Britain owns makes and owns the submarines Trident is installed upon.

Goes back to WWII. The UK provided a lot of scientists (and other resources) for the Manhattan Project, and thus got dibsies on the BOMB.

I think the French nuclear deterrent does some good. Imagine if Sarkozy woke up one morining and decided to do something about Iran.

Plausible deniability! :demon

Thank you. I had heard about France's independence in the nuclear arms family, but never heard the expression.
