Our treaty with the Virtual Commonwealth of Cyberia

Post by Ari Rahikkala »

This one took a bit of digging up, but I found it in the View from Benacia archives. Incidentally, they've been waiting for a Kaiserial visit by us for two years - Erik, you might want to pay them one, though of course you'll have to tread lightly; I don't know if Jacobus and these folks have gotten over their differences yet, but I doubt it...

Anyway, the treaty as it stands:
Article 1
The Virtual Commonwealth of Cyberia and the Imperial Republic of
Shireroth, by mutual consent and without coercion, enter into this
treaty.

Article 2
Each party recognises the sovereignty, virtual territory, and the
legitimacy of the rulers and government of the other.

Article 3
Each party agrees to enter into peaceful relations with one another
and refrain from any hostile action, either overt or covert.

Article 4
Each party agrees to share intelligence regarding hostile actions of a
third party against either of the nations.

Article 5
Each party agrees to allow an embassy of the opposite to be opened on
their website.

Article 6
Each party will support the other in gaining admission to
micronational organisations.

Article 7
Each party shall post this treaty on their national websites.

Article 8
This treaty shall be the basis of diplomatic relations between the
parties and may be amended with the consent of both parties.

Article 9
Any deliberate breach of this treaty shall render it invalid.

2 years? Was I the Kaiser at the time I wonder...

As for Jacobus... I to worry about their reaction to his status here. Anyone heard anything recently on the nature of things between them?

Nah, it was Scott. Still, I think they might appreciate a visit anyway, what with their problems with activity and all :p. I'll list our relation with the Federal Republic of Cyberia as de facto recognition (as set down in http://shireroth.kuroshiro.net/forum/vi ... php?t=7088) and ask Jacobus if he wants a real treaty...

Gosh, here I am wearing two hats........ or more.......

:nuclear Ahem. :nuclear

Well, both Cyberias are pretty morbid. I believe Acting President Chase made a Peace ouverture to President Catchpole..... Don't know what's happening with that.

Since all active Cyberians of whatever flavor can be counted most-of-the time on one hand, it would seem an auspicous time to make peace. President Dunkin's term is up VERY soon...... :confused

OK.
As a prime mover of the FRC, all we want from the VCC is to be acknowledged. The Treaty we've asked for is basically one sentence.
To the effect of, We iz real, you iz real, like we all do our own thang, baby.. The FRC has no trouble with Shireroth having relations with both Cyberias.

As a loyal Shirerithian, gosh , it's hard to trust any of those Cyberians. Maybe if we ignore them, they will all go away.

As de facto leader of the YAC, I say, annex them all, and then sell them on eBay to buy something we really want, and then annex eBay. or fBay. And then annex the money back.

And as as close to myself as I get on line, do what's best for Shireroth, but remember who actually cares about Shireroth. :party

P.S.-

As far as their reaction, they probably won't like it, but since four people voted in their last election, and maybe two people post regularly, I doubt if their is going to much trouble about it.

(putting on Yardistani hat) unless We want there to be some...

Seriously, I hope that it leads to peace.

P.P.S.-

Here's a very Yardistani-ish idea-

Re-affirm the Treaty, and appoint me as Ambassador. I promise to diligently facilitate peacemaking between the Cyberias.

There is almost something delightfully wrong with that idea..

AS for you running the YAC... You'll have to take that up with the current person in charge of the YAC...

Nah, Jacobus... I know you have a deep personal interest in this matter, but we'll just do this one by the book. Nothing has actually changed in the relationship between Shireroth and VCC lately; I simply was putting our foreign affairs list in order, had to dig up a document from an unlikely place to do it, and announced what I happened to find while looking for it.

So, just to make it all clear:

- I don't need to visit the VCC for any reason mentioned so far in this thread. I'must the MiniEx, and I don't really have anything to say to them ("Hi. Everything's just as before, although we did lose our treaty with you and had to look it up in a blog just to have our internal documents in order. Oh, and we've got Jacobus in our nation as a respected, powerful and exemplarily behaving citizen. Just in case you wanted to know.")
- Erik, you don't need to visit them either, though you could pull off a Zarquon impression if you like. They said they welcome the Kaiser after all, who cares if he's a couple of years overdue? :)
- Jacobus, you don't need to do anything but continue being a decent fellow. That's the best way that I can think of to convince the VCC people that you are, um, a decent fellow. This is your fight, not ours :)
- I *am*, however, going to be sending a treaty-in-a-can proposal to the FRC's way soonish. The only reason why I put "de facto recognition" in the foreign affairs list is that, well, you know, it *is* the current state of affairs :p

Very good.

I thought the YAC job came with the Duchy. If not, I apologize and will carry on as before. (loads pockets with cheerybombs.) (That was originally a typo, but I kind of like it!)

Decent fellow.
:) Thank you. It is amazing how decent one can be when not tailoring one's actions with one eye on a specific conflict, (and, of course, when one's adversaries are busy or have lost interest.)

Treaty-in-a-can is welcome. We (ahem) the FRC has elections due over the weekend (Nov.16-18th). Two moderates are the only candidates for Prez at the moment, so this should not be a problem, except, of course, getting a Senate quorum. Pesky democracy! :party

Would it be entirely out of place to continue annexing stuff, even if the leadership of the YAC isn't transferrable at the moment? My sister seemed enthusiastic about the idea when we discussed it today...

Hey, I'm enthusiastic about the idea! I'd like a branch of the YAC to open in Novatainia, it sounds like something they'd love ...

(my other nation, for those who don't know)
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy

And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

I beleive the whole point is to annex as much as is humorous or makes a point.

I'll wait for His Imperial Majesty's Comment,

Well, I put on my Stewardly Robe, grabbed my plain white rod, and took care of the aforesaid visit.

I was nice.

So we can take this off the table, and not annoy His Niftiness about it.

Shall we start a pool to see when they notice that the visit has occurred?

Scott , I didn't hide who was Steward of Shireroth, I didn't advertise it either. (WHOOPS, I did sign it Jacobus Loki. Maybe no one noticed it, and I can edit.. There!
J. Loki. There was no answer, nobody had been there since the 31st.) There ARE those who maintain a ledger of my IP's (waaay to much time on their hands).

Besides , they are moving boards soon, so? :demon

And I'm not that awful. I told them how much their friendship means to His Niftiness, and to Shireroth. I was very nice.

Well, but the idea is to annex things that are either trivial, funny, or funny/annoying.

THE NICK passed through earlier. Mathaps he would deen to enlighten us second generationers.....

When I started lurking Nick was still here, but left before I joined, so I never heard his stories. I have been piecing my limited knowledge of Shireroth together by reading all the old threads and stories I can get ahold of.
