Final Statement from Menelmacar

[Sirithil]

Final Statement:Quote:I am deeply saddened to inform the world that Menelmacar is hereby dissolved. All external territories have been freed and returned to their original donors. Fëanoria is entrusted to the care of the Foundation. Our great fleets remain in my own care to prevent their misuse. The Imperium is no more. Why do I do this, you ask?Well, I founded Menelmacar under some pretty noble ideals. Freedom. Fun. Peace. Strength. Unity. None of these were embodied in Menelmacar as it was in its last days. All of us had parts to play in its destruction and nobody is entirely blameless. Myself - especially myself - included.Freedom? I myself infringed on it in the worst possible way. Fun? Can anyone honestly say that Menelmacar has been fun since... oh, mid-September or so?Peace? Strength? We fought for peace and showed strength abroad... but at home we were a battlefield full of weak people concerned only with their own agendae.Unity? Don't make me laugh.Menelmacar has been dying for a long time. There's really no point in continuing. I admit that the plan Locke dubbed 'Babylon' was real. I had hoped I could bring Menelmacar back to its roots, fix the underlying problems rotting through the foundation upon which the Imperium stood. Yet, I find that even the common good of Menelmacar is secondary to the personal desires of all. Bill, you crossed the line. Let it be known that Bill's actions were not authorized. In fact, as pretty much everyone I explained Babylon to can attest, I would have recognized an Archetype victory in the elections. It took me all morning to repair the damage Bill did to the boards; the damage we have all done to Menelmacar is irreparable.I spent most of yesterday questioning my own humanity.I am spending today questioning the humanity of all.Menelmacar is dead...And so shall it be.Decree of Dissolution:Quote:As Founder and current Head of State, and by virtue of the power which is still vested in me until December 20th under Menelmacari law:Bill's decree is repealed. But Menelmacar remains dead. It cannot rise again. Ever. All external territories will be given to those who gave them to Menelmacar in the first place.Elpidos, Elivia, South Mar Sara, and Esthar go to Bill.Utah goes to Zary.Ashintully goes to Ryan.Freenesia goes to Locke.Jaiha... well, I don't remember where that came from. So I request that it be blanked from the map.Fëanoria shall go to the Foundation but I retain the right to reclaim it.Menelmacar's fleet of gravships remains mine; the fallen Imperium must not be a toybox to be raided at will. The forums are reopened for posterity so any may bear witness to the tragedy of Menelmacar's demise. Arch, remove your poetry if you like, I'm not so attached to it as to risk a copyright infringement lawsuit. There is no Menelmacar any longer. We have all had our part to play in killing it, myself included. I am simply making it official.So... so shall it be.
