Chancellor Of Shireroth?

Post by Kaiser Los I »

I have been thinking recently of ways to make Shireroth more active and enjoyable and stuff. I've been trying to get Erik's advice on whether they're good ideas and consistent with his vision and all that, but apparently he's very, very, busy, or possibly just very, very, irritable, so I guess I'll just throw this one out and ask the general population:What do you think of an elected Chancellor (or possibly the same position with a better, more Shirerothian name)? He or she would keep the Landsraad on task, fill in for the Kaiser when he/she is away or inactive or having a mental breakdown or whatever, and would act as a chief of staff or something to keep the ministers in line. The Kaiser would still have final power but could delegate a lot of stuff to this democratically elected official. The reason I think this would be good is that it would create a lot of activity. People would want to run for Chancellor and would start doing stuff so that they looked good. And of course elections are always interesting.BUT, I'm also afraid this will change Shireroth too much from its original structure, or that if there's both a Chancellor and a Kaiser they'll both have so little to do that neither will bother to do anything. I am very loathe to do anything without Erik's approval, since he is much better at these things than I, so I'm also sort of doubtful here.SO, I'd like to hear your opinion on the following:1. Do you think a Chancellor is a good idea?2. If yes, can you think of a better name?3. Do you have any ideas for jobs he or she might have?4. If there was a Chancellor election, would you run? 1) No...just another person in the bureaucracy.2) n/a3) What you said- Landsraad...'cept we don't need it cuz' it's the only place to vote and there's only ~10 members. If it were higher, then I could see a use, but otherwise, there's lil point.4) Of course not.
