Just for clarity, you might want to insert the word "only" between "modified" and "during"... or would you not want to be so strict?

I don't like it. I think there's a good reason we have it like it is. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

Allowing modification of a bill helps for efficiency. People can change their votes anyway, and debate should be allowed within the vote threads. One should not have to reject a bill just because of some minor points that can be fixed. Bill Dusch - Archon of Soloralism - Founder of TelikosCitizen of ShirerothBaron of AntyaProud to be Apollonianvar txtList = new Array()txtList[txtList.length]="'Whoa! You're in...college now? As stated in the Front Gate: people would modify the bill AFTER voting had started, but some of the voters didn't like the new changes, and then changed their votes, and it generally just caused alot of confusion and pain... There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

While I do agree with angel that this change does seem like an invitation for confusion during voting. The idea that it would make the overall time it takes to get things done shorter does seem to have merit.

I think we should keep it to grammar and such. The point of having a debate period and then a separate voting period should denote that after point x (being when the voting period starts), you stop speaking and start voting.

It only causes inefficiency and part of the problem of the Landsraad in the first place if you do restrict it. Currently, people can vote to stop a bill if there is one trivial aspect that they disagree with, which leads to the entire concept of the Filibuster problem. That should not restrain a bill from passing, and if said problem can be fixed, there is no need to vote on the entire bill all over again, if the nobility is even willing to remember to do it.

Kildare and Antya vote YEA. (10)
