Refining Feudalism Issue 5 and some others

Post by Hertug Gordon II »

I think it would be best if each duchy decided in their own way how to allocate their votes. This would have no impact at all on the The Landsraad. I think each Barony should get the number of votes for counties it contains. And the Barony would have the right to divide the votes as it sees fit. It can decide on its own and have an elector- not necessarily the baron- chosen to vote as it decides. For instance, a Barony with 5 counties chooses an elected. It then can lets say, vote 5-0 in favor of something. 4-1 in favor. 2-3 against- depending on what type of system it chooses in allocating its votes.

?? Yes.. but in the Landsraad, you cannot partition up your votes. It's eithe All AYE, NAY, or ABSTAIN. It makes life easier for the Praetor if nothing else. E. Metzler (UEC)Count of Monty CriscoFounder of the MCS"Never use a BOO/\/\ist as a diplomat" -- GSJoin Shireroth

I see. I am not familiar with all the policies as I have never had access to the Landsraad until very recently. Would it be possible in the future to divide up votes?

Quote:It makes life easier for the Praetor if nothing else.It surely cannot be hard to add up votes like 3-1 and 2-2 and 4-0. The Praetor can easily count that to be 9-3.

Yes.. but think about having to do that with all nobles... It was tried for a short time, and annoyed the hell out of the Praetor... (Who was Praetor than.. I don't think it was me.. maybe Steve?) E. (in responce to comment in other thread... but is being brought here for consolidation)eh?ok.. I tihnk I got it.Barony A has 5 counties. There is a vote in the landsraad. The barony holds a vote on the issue.3 counts for 2 against. The baron would than go to the Landsraad and cast the vote "3 Aye, 2 Nay"? If so, we are talking about the same thing. E. Metzler (UEC)Count of Monty CriscoFounder of the MCS"Never use a BOO/\/\ist as a diplomat" -- GSJoin Shireroth

Yeah thats what I am talking about, except it would be up to the Barony to decide how to split the votes, not necesarilly by the #s.

My response was to the divided votes only:Quote:It surely cannot be hard to add up votes like 3-1 and 2-2 and 4-0. The Praetor can easily count that to be 9-3.I think Erik agreed with me on that point. It would get to be a great hassle and in my opinion definitely not worth bothering with. Of course, it's no longer my problem at the moment, but I still think it's a bad idea. *throws grenade for the hell of it*BO0O0O0O0/\/\!!!!!!

Splitting votes between counts in a single barony is a bad idea imho. It makes the system way to complicated. KISS principle applies in the case of Micronations.(I'm sure ANY math lover knows what that is) There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.
