The different types of fiction

Post by Bill3000 »

Is it just me, or is the complete work of fiction as an entire subject that we are coming to, as a whole, becoming utterly confusing? Both in Cedrism and Soloralism I see accounts of both religious, fictional, and historical stories throughout their lore. But it has come to the point where saying something like "This fiction is what actually happened" is downright confusing. Perhaps we could organize this better, at least on the Wiki?Make the subjects mutually exclusive, first of all. What I have for the schism is: History, Sim-History, Fiction, Myth. Let me give an example of each, relating to some Soloralist lore here.History - On July 11th, 2001 (705 ASC), Jason Steffke closed down the forums of the Flying Islands of Jasonia and declared the nation to be defunct.Simhistory - In the year 705 ASC, a war erupts between Shireroth and Jasonia, resulting in the immediate literal and functional collapse of the FIoJ.Fiction - One soldier's account of the final days of the Flying Islands of Jasonia in the Shirerothian-Jasonian War, before its collapsed.Myth (Soloralist) - The collapse of the Flying Islands was one of a series of carefully planned movements by the Ingredient of Fate which would increase the quintessential corruption of Micras, leading to the inevitable dawn of Fate.So as you can see here, there are a few distinctions between each. What do you guys think? I think it would be a good idea for the wiki to split the fiction/history catagories like this. Myth would obviously go into the particular religion in which the lore is a myth of. Any reason we can't put simhistory in the existing Culture category, and myth in the existing Religion category? You and your nation should be on MicroWiki, micronationalism's premier source for information. Get over there and write up an article now! It's a quick and easy way to get your name out to the whole micronational world.

Myth is pretty much religion, yes. But simhistory is differant than parts of the culture - culture can include what I call customs, the actual spontaneous processes that form in a micronation and becomes part of the theme. (YAC, for one example - Ducks, Glue, Sandpaper is another if any of you remember that) As such, I tink that Simhistory should have its own seperate catagory. I say leave it as it is. I never had any problems discerning them... *shrugs* There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find.

It's the creation of one more friggin catagory in order to differentiate between things. It's not much to ask for. Fine fine. I try and avoid the wiki whenever possible anyway. There are no flowers, no not this time. There will be no angels gracing the lines, just these stark words I find. Edited by: AngelGuardian93  at: 9/11/05 20:00

Because he still loves the library, despite it's suckyness compared to the god-like awesomeness of the wiki. They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...
