Good ideas from foreign countries

Post by Kaiser Los III »

Making the rounds of the foreign barbarians, I've seen two ideas I really like and want to implement.1. Natopia is using ambassadors to other nations to help build awareness of Natopia's existence and serve as public awareness people. Considering that for one of the largest and oldest micronations around shamefully few people are more than vaguely aware of our existence, I think it's time we follow suit. Eoin, why don't you start thinking about the details of this and I'll talk to you about it next time I see you?2. Babkha is considering a once-a-month email newsletter to their citizens. The point is not so much to keep them informed as to make sure that if someone's on the verge of drifting away, at least once a month we send a reminder that Shireroth exists and stuff is still going on there to their inbox, hopefully shaming them into coming back a bit. I will take care of this if no one else wants to, but I'll need a list of everyone's current emails from the Department of the Census.

I like the second idea. As for the first one, well, I don't particularly care. We've always been more or less seclusionists, and I really don't have a problem. But I like the newsletter idea. 3e knowe ek that in fourme of speche is chaunge / With-inne a thousand 3eer, and wordes tho / That hadden pris now wonder nyce and straunge / Us thenketh hem, and 3et thei spake hem so, / And spedde as wel in loue as men now do...

The newsletter idea would probably just get deleted with the rest of my crap....I don't like email. They call it a signature, but no one ever signs their posts...

The job's yours if you want it, although I'd like to review the final product before it gets sent out. But are you sure you don't want to give it to someone who isn't overburdened already? Maybe we can convince Nick to do it; he likes the idea and is a good writer.

Well, I was thinking Joe might want to take it, since he's already effective Director of the Census Department. Blindness Is A Blessing
