No, Yvain has the vote, doesn't he?

He does. I am no longer in the Landsraad... Unoless needed as Arbiter.
Some people seem to be acting like the Landsraad is a representative body. Where a duke is the representative of his duchy. A Duke if the representative of himself. Thus population should not matter. This is not a democracy, using money as a means to measure population of a duchy, and thus how many people a duke represents seems wrong to me in this system.

- A Duke does not "own" the people within the Duchy.
- The wealth of the people within the Duchy benefit the Duchy as a whole.
- No one is suggesting that a Duke is a representative.
- Is it so completely impossible to simply try this for a short time?

It's not so much prejudice I think, just voting for one reason and stating another.

I don't think Yardistans new cits have been counted in the current balance, or the transfer of Musica to Brookshire....
See what I mean?? It's out of whack ALREADY!
(sigh)
Yes, benkern we disagree on this issue. No Big Deal. I don't have any erbs to bet, but if this passes (gods forbid) and lasts past the end of the current reign, I'll accept any job in Yardistan that you want to give me.
PS-
I think any Baron who uses this system to coerce his Duke should be boiled in orange beer.
(BTW I sent my erbs out of Yardistan to reward a supporter, not out of any lack of confidence in benkern.)

I trust Yvain will do the right thing ... he is wise and rational, after all, and doesn't hold onto preconceived biases ...

And he understands the undercurrents and mystery of the place, and does not seem to make decisons based on rancor.
(EDIT- It's done. On to the next hopless cause!)

I don't hold it against you. You have many times stated your confidence me as leader of Yardistan. You originally put me there, and surprisingly still think that was a good idea, which I appreciate very much.
Of course Jacobus you are welcome in Yardistan any time at all - your rebellious nature (or whatever you want to call it) very much suits the traditional Yardistani archetype. If there's a free County, talk to its Baron and it's yours.

Thanks.
I still think the system will fall apart, but it might be fun to watch it fall apart. And it won't hold up peace in Darfur or a cure for cancer.

or you could assist in its construction and be a contributing member of the state.

I'm starting to like this whole... thing, it's making life interesting again. I think I'm going to continue the deal with Liam so I can just sit back and watch the Landsraad fireworks from the sidelines
