Jacobus being away on a trip, the succession dispute between him and Hesam Jahandar continues in a somewhat muted and indecisive form. The only recent development has been a proposal to resolve it through who can write the best rhyming quatrains, which will someday be remembered as the mistake that led to John Keats becoming a Shirerithian Kaiser. Jacobus is expected back Tuesday, at which point more decisive things may occur.


The bribes offered me were pathetic compared to my gloriousness, and therefore both candidates lose the option to have my glorious counsel. Unless they can work it out soon, I'll just give up on them and take the throne myself.

Interesting. You claim to be descended from Doran I, who was the wife of Meskan I died and claimed the throne when he died. That makes you a direct descendant of my kaiser, and a very distant cousin of Bill's Meskan II.

I'd recommend against Doran II. First, because of what Erik said. Second, because Doran is Jadie's real-life last name, and it kind of weirds me out for you to be using it. Third, because traditionally only the lines of Mors and Raynor use their bloodline name as a Kaiser name. Other bloodlines invent a new one or draw from a common inventory - the line of Steffki uses "Meskan" pretty often, and the line of Kalir uses "Los". You're welcome to choose your name any way you like, but "Doran II" would certainly raise the eyebrows of Imperial historians.

If I were you, I'd ignore the naysayers and keep your own name. The last three Doran Kaisers (Jadie I, Carol I, Hypatia I) did. Orrr...compromise! What about "Kaiser Hasan I". Sounds kinda Babkhan, sounds a lot like Hesam, and Hasan's a certified Boomist god of wisdom. It could work!

(you also have my permission to switch to claim descent from Hyperborean bloodline of Kalir if you'd prefer. That'd also make sense and make the role-playing aspect interesting. Maybe you've got some of both lines?)

As far as Kaiserial names go, don't be discouraged if you have a non-traditional one. I was Kaiser Nicodemus I, and Biblical names aren't popular in Shireroth--even though my primary inspiration for that name came from the leader of the rats in The Secret of NIMH.
