I return

Post by b3n|<3r|\| »

Helloooooooooooooooo Shireroth!

Sorry I've been away, computer problems and it's exam season. During the Summer Loll I might be able to get more active again. The reason I didn't come back sooner is because I forgot my password - got tired of that, so I just re-registered.

So! This whole Kaiser thing seems to have raged in my absence. I've been reading the posts for the past few days even though I haven't been logged in, and IMHO, I reckon Jayatar is the better choice. He has some good plans for Shireroth. I support his Kaisership.

Good to see you're all still here by the way! :)
Vilhelm von Benkern - The Dolphin-...Count
:: Formerly just "benkern"
:: Rook Sentry of the Order of the Vorpal Blade
:: Count of Mar Sara IIRC
:: Former Baron of Absentia AFAIK, before that Baron of Vorpmadal TBH; also Former Duke of Yardistan IMHO
:: Dux Emeritus of the Order of Mischievous Intent

It takes moo to mango!

Oh no, it's benkern...

And you can only say that because Loki II hasn't had a chance to post his agenda, seeing as he's away on business and his access to the internet is unreliable. Give him time, then make your choice. He should be back Tuesday, he says.

Benkerns back, yay!
The character Andreas the Wise is on indefinite leave.
However, this account still manages:
Cla'Udi - Count of Melangia
Manuel - CEO of VBNC. For all you'll ever need.
Vincent Waldgrave - Lord General of Gralus
Q - Director of SAMIN
Duke Mel'Kat - Air Pirate, Melangian, and Duke of the Flying Duchy of Glanurchy

And references may be made to Vur'Alm Xei'Bôn (a Nelagan Micron of undisclosed purpose).

There is a slight difference between the freshly killed severed head of a goat and a taxidermy piece which holds snuff and has been dead for 120 years. There is an even bigger difference between that, and a picture of a man recently killed and stitched back together again.

Yes, I appreciate his support, if not his sense of humour. A Kaiser must not cast aside his loyal subject, merely because the subject fails to amuse at all times.

Jess did a thing in bad taste.

But aren't salt mines, SAVAK, taxidermied goats used as standards, and a tacit acceptance of tyranny (however well role-played) also in questionable taste?

However, I do not blame my worthy opponent (what is his name today?). His comes from a far different culture, and we must work to understand that culture. A culture of an ally, I re-affirm. The Hyperboreans are doing a good job of it, accepting an stranger in their midst with open arms.

He has also chosen to take a Shirithian name, which I did on assuming the Duchy of Yardistan.

I believe that is sufficient culture shock for (fill in name here) at this time, without burdening him with the Mango Throne.

I never said that Jess was a bad person, I just thought that his choice of expression was not acceptable. Especially when he decided to refer to me as a "Terrorist". A term which has become as much a racial slur in the Muslim world as it has lost its original meaning. Incidentally, I am neither a Muslim nor Iraqi nor a Terrorist.

Unfortunetly I am not a "stranger" to Shireroth, merely a stranger to the newest members of Shireroth. It's likely the reason why I have the support of Harvey and Scott since they've had the longest time to see the work I am capable of.

He was saying Hussein was a terrorist, I believe. I doubt he'd do something so foolish as to pull out a racial slur on you. He's young, not stupid.

EDIT: Whoops, after reading, yes, he might have. But again, he's young, cut him a little slack. If he were older I'd have gone ballistic on him already...

"Terrorist" has become a slur, and is dropped as a bomb. Kind of like "Nazi".

I've been called a terrorist so often that I tend to ignore the word, take it as "white noise".

Hah! While Hasan's policies were superior to Loki's and Erik's vote of confidence both made a great deal of importance, I think the safe money is on Jess's support of Jacobus being the most important deciding factor in who got the throne this time.

I will still not disavow Jess. Youth and enthusiam are important. I'd rather have activity that needs to be remonstrated with than empty forums. Gadflies are often a good thing, and he gave us two choices of alternate "kaisers".

He now knows to avoid pictures of actual dead people. Feed the pony, Jess, your day will come.

Honestly... I don't think it played even the slightest important role. It was there.. but had no influence outside of an annoyance.
