ShireWiki deletions

Post by Ari Rahikkala »

I'm expecting there to some disputes over whether articles tangentially related to Shireroth should be included in ShireWiki or not. Let's try to keep it sane.

Oh, and a few reminders: Deleting articles from a MediaWiki only makes them invisible, they can still always be pulled out of the deletion log if necessary. I just made a backup of the database a couple of hours ago, too. And most importantly, of course, all the information will still be in the MicroWiki. The point is to consolidate information without making any of it unavailable.

d'Accord. ;)
From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki

I've been going about this a little bit differently than originally planned. There's a lot of pages that I just don't have the heart to throw out completely, so I've been writing short blurbs on what makes them significant from Shireroth's perspective (and trying to make them contain at least a little bit of uniquely Shirithian flavour and historical knowledge). For instance, Babkha and Audentior...

(yes, as you can see, both of those articles mention me. Why? Because I was around, and therefore I consider myself worth mentioning... if I hadn't been around, I wouldn't know what to say, after all!)

Not my style. I prefer not to advertise myself. That makes it easier to tell if I've done noteworthy things - people will remember me for them if I have. I did recently update the ShireWiki page on myself to reflect my current state in life... hm... best to do the same change in MicroWiki, too...

May we use the same format Wikipedia and Microwiki use for their country pages if we want to do a page about a county or duchy of Shireroth?

I see no problem with that... Though eventually we'll start making our own standards I'm sure..

Hell, if you wanna make a template for subdivisions, that would proly be cool..

No worries- I found a subdivision template lurking out there. There are an awful lot of counties without pages, though. Maybe I'll make that my mission for ShireWiki- to sort them out ;)
