New posts issue.

I have an issue where forums aren't telling me when they have new posts in them from the main board. General and Front Gate work.... Ari did something to fix this... but it didn't really seem to work. Am I the only one having this issue? Or are any others?

I'm getting that problem, too. Well its something of a variation - most of the time the boards work, but every visit I click on "View new posts" next to Logout to check and sure enough there are usually some new posts.

An unfortunate arrangement to be sure but it works... do you do that also, your Niftiness?

So, while the problem is not solved, there is a way around this for all those afflicted so far... great!

Anyone else found this happened to them? You might not even notice - try clicking the "View new posts" link, just to check.

Well, looking at the database and comparing what works to what doesn't didn't bring up anything... but... I have an idea!

My hypothesis seems correct, the mango issue only occurs on fora that have subfora... but I can't yet quite see how it affects anything in this code... unless... I'm looking at the wrong place..

I ended up just hardcoding the mango into includes/functions.php. It's an ugly kluge, but it works as long as no subdivision wants the indicator for new posts in their subforums to be something different than the mango...
