I can't promise that I will blow your mind and leave you with a whole new philosophical outlook on things like the nature of language, knowledge, identity and formal systems... though maybe I will. What I *can* promise is that it will take very little of your time and if you can handle high school maths, you should be able to get pretty far with Haskell. So, come on in, try out the exercises or just tell me you're interested (although I'm sure you can deal with the exercises quite easily if you're Shirithian) at http://shireroth2.kuroshiro.net/forum/v ... hp?p=88163
It's time for Shirithians to have some class

... or, if you prefer, be guinea pigs in a little experiment of mine. My hypothesis is that teaching Haskell to smart, nifty people, especially ones with no previous programming experience, is easy enough that even I can do it. I'd hate to be proven wrong

Then don't think of it as going to school. Read the lesson at your own pace, ask about whatever you don't understand - my enthusiasm for helping people learn Haskell is limitless (it's probably something to do with brain chemistry: When a geek gets the idea that he should teach something he considers awesome to other people, not understanding what he says is the worst way to try to get him to stop)

/me nods
Since people seem to be asking me that a lot... yes, I'm going to stick around for a little while at least. Actually... I have... plans. Plans which involve sticking around.
Oh, and let's see if this can motivate people a bit: Once you've understood lesson 1, you can already do stuff that, for instance, C programmers can't. Defining functions on the spot was a very difficult idea for me to digest when I first came across it.
