Dear Mr Windsor,
Let me welcome you to Shireroth and thank you for your interest in this country. Batavië is one the few Dutch-language micronations that have contacted us. We are happy about starting relations with the Dutch-language sector of micronations.
As such we are interested in building a relationship with Batavië. I'm afraid I don't understand much of what is said in your forums, but activity seems to be something you're struggling with. We understand how that is. We have ourselves struggled with it. But you seem to be recovering.
I believe that the first stage of our relationship should be some kind of joint communiqué that spells out the agenda for our relationship. Dear sir, what do you think about that?
Please extend my greetings to the government of Batavië.
Yours sincerely,
Richard Andelarion
Minister for the Exterior

From a distance I'm concerned about the rampant lawyerism manifesting itself in Shireroth currently. A simple Kaiserial slap on the wrist or censure by the community should suffice. - Jacobus Loki
Can't you see? I'm crazy!

Can't you see? I'm crazy!
Maybe we can sign the following treaty:
Treaty of mutual recognition and friendship between Shireroth and Batavië
The government of the Democratic Kingdom of Batavië and the government of the Imperial Republic of Shireroth, desirous of strengthening the cause of peace and furtherment of mutually beneficial relations between Batavië and Shireroth, have reached the following agreement:
1. Both parties grant each other recognition of the other?s sovereignty and legitimacy of the other?s government.
2. Both parties obligate themselves to desist from any act of violence, any aggressive action, and any attack on each other, either individually or jointly with other Powers.
3. Should disputes or conflicts arise between the contracting parties over problems of one kind or another, both parties shall settle these disputes or conflicts exclusively through friendly exchange of opinion or, if necessary, through the establishment of arbitration commissions, the selection of which must be agreed upon by both parties.
4. All diplomatic parties from both parties will enjoy diplomatic immunity within the borders of each state, on the condition that their credentials have been accepted by and the diplomatic party hasn?t been expelled by the host nation.
5. Neither of both parties shall aid or otherwise support those that are willing to undermine each other's sovereignty.
6. This treaty will be effective when signed and ratified by each state.
7. Amendments to this treaty are allowed via mutual consent from both governme of the parties.
8. The cancellation of this treaty must be undertaken by a written notice posted on both nations? forums.
9. Any violation of the aforementioned articles constitutes the cancellation of this treaty.

Thank you for proposing this, but I have two problems with this I hope we can solve before we sign:
1. A treaty ought not to be cancelled by a mere notification. Since it is a contract between two governments, both governments should agree to its cancellation.
2. The treaty's purpose is to make sure that relations between our two countries remain strong, that we won't harm the other country's sovereignty. Therefore a measure or action being against this treaty should not cancel the treaty, but be declared illegal.
I hope you understand my concerns.
Yours,
Richard Andelarion

Hhmm. Yes, I do. My English isn't so good(that's the reason that I'm citizen of Shireroth) so have you other prepositions?

Just erase the last two articles:
